Hate to say it, but I am just not feeling the beer scene here in the Okanagan. The Hop Head IPA was pretty good for an english style IPA. It was 65IBU’s, and definitely had a stinging dank bitterness along with a malty backbone. However, it was also pretty low ABV(~5%), which is common for english style IPA’s and not so common West Coast style IPA’s(~6−7%). Also, there was no description of the hop profile, the aromatic profile, the yeast used, or something like that. For me, though, it’s not that great as an IPA overall. There are just so much good West Coast style IPA’s that are just fruit and dank bombs out there, that this one, along with every other English style IPA’s, just doesn’t stack up anymore. Although, the Hop Head IPA was pretty decent, their West Coast ale, I thought, was pretty atrocious. The West Coast pale ale was anything but. If they had taken out the name West Coast, implying some kind of fruity/piney/dank aromatic profile, I would have still thought the pale ale was bad. It tasted like barley water or wort, like they hadn’t fully fermented out the sugars from the beer. It was sweet tasting and just straight up weird. The hops were just not there. Although, for just 25IBU’s, I wouldn’t expect them to be. It was just bad beer. Also, pretty pricey, and I don’t think they do happy hour, though I could be wrong on that. I am still giving this place another go, though. I’ll try a couple more of their styles. If this review isn’t update, well, they probably weren’t good.

When walking around the marina in Kelowna we stumbled upon Tree Brewing Co, and boy are we glad we did! This gem did not come up on any of our Unilocal searches, and it sure should have. Lots of seating both downstairs, upstairs, and outside. The vibe was great, and there were games to play with your friends. We choose the Tank flights, which was one out of three, and it was great. If we did not have to drive, we would have loved to hangout and try out the other two! Though we didn’t try any of the food, it did look amazing as we watched it come out. If you’re looking for a place to spend the afternoon in Kelowna, you’ve sure found it! We sure wish that there was a location in Vancouver has cool as Tree Brewing Co! Our breweries need to step up their atmosphere! We cannot wait to come back.

Enjoyed this place very much! — Staff was super pleasant and allowed us to take our friendly dogs in the tasting room. — Plenty of parking — Lots of beer to choose from. My fave was the Pineapple Hef. so refreshing! — Plenty of tables to hang out at. If you want to have pizza and snacks during beer tasting, check out the Tree Brewing restaurant about 2 blocks away. Cheers!

great beer went home with a growler. They don’t have any beer food or munchies here and they can only serve a flight per customer. But really good beer. For food or other beer sizes go to the location on Water street.

Tree is probably my favourite brewery, & this is always our first stop in Kelowna(we leave the wine to day 2). Hop Head IPA was my first introduction to west coast hoppy IPAs — a life changing event! — & I can’t remember ever trying a beer here that I thought was bad. None of their brews are too sweet, & many are spectacular, especially the seasonal specials. On this recent trip, we came home with some tall bottles of Raspberry IPA, & the last trip introduced is to their raw(unfiltered) IPA, plus beer aged in wine barrels from Quail’s Gate Winery. The tap room does tastings, but does not serve full drinks — for that, you will need to go to the new Beer Institute down on Water St., which is definitely worth the trip. However, the tap room does have a full beer store, whereas the Institute is limited to growlers of their current taps. You can also purchase swag at the brewery,& some other beer-themed items such as BBQ sauce containing Tree beer. Tours of the brewery are usually only available in the summer; check ahead before planning a trip. They are also generally closed on Sundays during the off-season. Tasting room is accessible. (Had to come back to mention that after finishing this review, I had to crack a Hop Head. Don’t want to forget what it tastes like!)

Do yourself a favour and get in this place! We were lucky enough to be here for Canada Day — what a celebration. Did a tour of the facility, and it made us very proud to be from BC — what these brew masters try to keep local, they should be commended. No added preservatives, no added colours or smells… recycling their bottles — Love it. The staff are super friendly, very helpful, and don’t make you feel dumb at all. Tastings are 4 for $ 4($ 2 goes to charity!) Can’t wait for the 2nd location in The Grand Hotel to open — although, the original location has so much character, it’s going to be hard to beat the feeling in there. It’s almost like you’d picture the TV show Cheers — Where everybody knows your name… Too bad for you if you don’t visit Kelowna — you are missing out!

Not at all a beer fan but Tree Brewing was AMAZING! There is definitely something for everyone. There were two of us so we were able to sample all 10 items on the tasting menu and it was so worth it. Amazingly, the darkest beer with the chocolate after-taste completely won me over! I’ll be looking for their product everywhere I go now. The staff was so friendly and hilarious, and it was a really fun, great atmosphere. I regret not springing for a hoodie or t-shirt, their logo is awesome and I’d wear it proudly to advertise for them. Definitely headed back here anytime I’m in Kelowna.

The staff here are so friendly! Nice store with lots of products to buy, and I love their wooden style branding! We bought a stainless steel growler and enjoyed a flight of our choosing while hanging out. I really enjoy the pineapple hefe! Stop in and have a pint, I will be back whenever I am in kelowna :)

If you are in Kelowna and a fan of craft beer there is one oasis for you in the desert of wine country! Tree brewing is located in an industrial area of Kelowna in an unsuspecting building. If the tree brewing sign was not plastered on the side of the building you would never know it was there. Once inside though everything changes! Right inside the doors is a beautiful retail space and tasting room. Here you can find all of their 6 and 12 packs both warm and cold depending on your situation. They also stock all of their seasonal bomber(600ml) bottles of specialty beer such as their fall pumpkin beer and their very limited wine barrel aged beer. They also sell lots of other products like shirts, tap handles and sauces to name a few. Where they really shine through though is their tasting room side. Here you will be given a menu with a bunch of different beer they have on tap for you to try. You are asked to pick 4 to sample and asked for a minimum $ 2 dollar charitable donation(as of writing this goes to Breast Cancer research but changes monthly). The people manning the tasting bar are very knowledgeable about their beer and give you lots of information about the beer. Most of the time they offer brewery tours as well but they cannot give tours when they are packaging and that was the case when I stopped by the brewery this time. So if you are stuck in Kelowna without craft beer this is the place for you to go! Pick up as much beer as you want as I know I did. If you do not know what to try make sure to try their«Thirsty Beaver Amber Ale» as the name is amazing! #30DaysOfYelp 29⁄30

You know, I’m giving Tree Brewing 4 stars instead of 5 only because I would have loved to have sat down and ordered a beer and a snack here. Instead, we did a five-beer tasting menu, which was delicious, but not quite perfectly satisfying. Service was super friendly and the beers were great. Bought a six pack and enjoyed every one of those beers.

I’m not a beer person, and the only way I would drink one is mixing Blue Moon with OJ. We went to Kelowna, mostly for wine tasting, and Tree Brewing was right next to Calona Vineyards. When wine tasting, they give you about 3 sips worth of wine per type. When beer tasting, they give you half a cup per type. You get to pick three kinds, and if you’re not a beer drinker, it’s hard to keep up with the speed of those around you. So you drink as fast as you can… which may make you feel slightly woozy. My companions preferred the Hefeweizen, but I am a novice and if you made me pick, I’d pick the apple cider. I just found out that beer is made with hops, a cousin of cannabis.
