We stayed at the Stanley Bridge Resort from August 23 – 26, 2013 and it was awesome! I’d love to give it 4.5 stars, because it was almost perfect, but 4 will have to do. We checked in early with no hassles at about 1:30 p.m. on Friday. We rented an efficiency cottage for the weekend and weren’t really sure what to expect but we were pleasantly surprised. Each cottage has it’s own driveway, and deck. Our deck overlooked a big, private yard with picnic tables and horseshoe pits, and then a large field and the ocean. Just beautiful! The cottage had it’s own BBQ, a small kitchen with mini fridge, Kurig(or Tassimo… something like that!), a small stove/oven, sink and all the utensils we needed. There was also kitchen table with 4 chairs, a small living area with TV and couch, and then a curtain that divided the«bedroom”(with queen bed and dresser) from the rest of the cabin. Off that was a great little bathroom with new shower and tub. The cabin did not have a lot of lighting, so it did get a little dark in the evenings, but other than that it was perfect for the two of us! The deck also provided a great post-wedding party area for ourselves, the bride and groom, and a few close friends. I also got to peek in the hospitality cabin(where the groom and his family were staying) and it was lovely! Full kitchen, bathroom, great bedrooms(3 or 4!), and good sized space. It worked well for the rehearsal dinner and party that followed! The pool is small, but really well kept, as is the hot tub. The grounds are simply beautiful with acres of space that is very well kept. They have some great gardens and had enough space to host 2 weddings that day — one outside ceremony near the garden and reception in a large tent(it looked beautiful from where we were!) and the other, which we were at, in their main ballroom. The ballroom was huge — dividing into two areas for cocktail hour, and later dancing, then opening the larger room for dinner. The place was simply beautiful with views of the large grounds and the ocean. The staff at Stanley Bridge were also awesome. Their maintenance guy helped us with some wedding related disasters(the signs weren’t screwed together right! AH!) and staff helped us track down everything from safety pins to bandaids and even extra chairs for the rehearsal in the hospitality cabin! They had great recommendations for dinners and even day trips. These guys know their stuff! Stanley Bridge Resort was AWESOME and we can’t wait to go back next summer!
