I don’t have a lot of Vietnamese experience so I’m not sure if this is the best, or the best of what I have had but it is super tasty. The Phở is great, the the Vermicelli is great… The staff is super good. Definitely worth a try, or two, or three…

Seriously some of the best Vietnamese I’ve ever had. It’s a good price for excellent food. I highly recommend stopping by or taking out! You will not be disappointed! Friendly staff, cute little interior, you can’t ask for more!

A tasty Vietnamese option with some pros and cons. The food itself is flavourful and fresh. These are good things. I do find myself craving a Mai’s visit every so often. The disappointment is always in the value department. They charge going rate plus a dollar or two for most dishes and in comparison to other Vietnamese restaurants, they do skimp a bit on the expensive ingredients. Skimp to the point of there being a noticeable exclusion of meaty goodness. All in all expect to pay a little more than normal and expect to ration your meat especially when it comes to Phở. Do not pay for extra meat, they don’t add enough to make it worth it!

Very nice. Good food. Authentic and tasty. Upscale décor inside which is not apparent at all from the outside. Service was great. Definitely would return if I was in the area.

If I could give this a three and a half I would. The food is average. The salad rolls aren’t very good, rice noodle with a piece of lettuce with peanuts sauce that’s not that great. I prefer the salad roll to be with peppers, cucumber basil, you know the good stuff. I was really unhappy with it. Then I had the rice noodle and salad bowl, which was decent but just not my style. Needed more cucumber and sauce that was less sweet. Very average food compared to what I’m used to. For sure worth trying out because maybe it’s your style everyone’s different. Very fresh! Service was great!!! 5 star for service

Mai’s never disappoints. We come all the way from downtown Vancouver to have Mai’s monthly. I recommend the chicken wings, any soup and vermicelli bowls. Always good service. Definitely busy on the weekends, especially around dinner time. Can do take out too!

Really great and fresh tasting food. Had the calamari and lemon grass chicken phở and it was excellent! We will be back again and would definitely recommend. Just wish they had not sat us at a booth with a wet seat… Or maybe they should have warned us before we sat down.

Mai’s is so good, every time I visit I can never decide what to get. I first had the lemon grass chicken which is solid, but the phở keeps me coming back. A new favourite is the curry chicken special, it is actually amazing. Flavourful, fall apart chicken in curry with potatoes served with rice. It doesn’t get any better. Plus the service is good, the restaurant is very clean and the prices are very reasonable.

Came with the family for a Saturday lunch. Value: a little on the low side considering the masses of cheap(and good) phở places out there Taste: not bad Return-worthy? Somewhat

Came here for the first time last weekend. Why did I wait so long?! I had the green papaya salad & was so pleased I did. It was so fresh & delicious, I will definitely order it again. Perfect for a hot summer day. I’ll be back for sure. The place is clean & the staff is friendly.

One of our hometown favourites. A go-to spot a couple times a month. Chicken curry, Phở and spring rolls are a must have here.

This place came recc’d because it won Best of the Best. It was really good phở. Was it the Best? Prob not. That’s reserved for the Green Leaf in Seattle. But it was delicious. The rare beef was tender. Broth fragrant and tasty. Fresh bean sprouts and Thai basil. Kids liked the spongy beef balls! We also had the Vietnamese coffee. Kinda pricey at 3.75 $. Kinda stingy with the condensed milk. The waitress seemed tired, couldn’t be bothered. Bordering on abrupt. My son said she was fine :). Gave her a big tip.

The phở here is fine, normal phở, nothing wrong with it. But the real reason I come here is for the spring rolls! They are expensive but absolutely divine and worth every penny. I also enjoy the papaya salad.

Tried the beef brisket with noodles #18. YUMMY! Super tender beef brisket and rich soup base. Will for sure come again!

I can say this is hands down the best vietnamese I’ve had… It’s strange to be in a Vietnamese place that’s so fancy… I’m used to the more divey joints. Always friendly and fast service… always good food.

For Vietnamese food in the valley, Mai’s is a cozy beacon in a land of chain restaurants and questionable fast-food Asian joints. I waver between the vermicelli bowls and the house special phở. The phở broth doesn’t make me excessively thirsty, which I really like. The spring rolls are also served hot and crunchy, with nice presentation. Service has always been courteous and friendly, and the food is consistent. When I worked across the street I used to come here all the time; now it’s reserved for the times when I’m out on that side of the Fraser and need a warm hot bowl of noodles.

I hate to downgrade this to 3 stars, but when I ventured out of Bun(vermicelli) territory, the phở was decidedly average. Further, our server — while friendly — definitely wasn’t trained well. Also, they removed several of the delicious curries from the menu. My companion ordered the Hui style soup, which is described on the menu as having vermicelli noodes. It came with thick noodles — a little thinner than udon. Now there may be places in the world where vermicelli is a thick noodle, but I’ve never been to a Vietnamese restaurant where it was. Anyway, the broth was quite weak as well, so we sent it back and ordered basic phở. However, they both showed up on our bill, and it took a couple conversations before the server finally removed it. That shouldn’t have been a question. I can no longer recommend Mai’s as anything but an average quality, incredibly clean restaurant, with servers who are — though friendly — inexperienced.

Best Vietnamese in town. It’s about a dollar over the normal price– But it’s an upscale Vietnamese restaurant in comparison to the norm. Great food, amazing flavors, nice presentation, staff is very friendly. My only complaint is that they had Alicia Keys«Doesn’t mean anything» playing on repeat. I think we heard over 10 times while we were having lunch… Other than that, I’m a fan!

I’m from out of town and I’ve been to this restaurant 3 times already. Here is my opinion: Food– tasty with quality ingredients and nice presentation. Variety of dishes to choose from is a bonus. Price– middle of the road, decent. Ambience– clean & relaxing with stylish décor Location– easy to find & plenty of parking lots I will definitely come back here again.
