Authentic Lao food and really good Thai food in Langley City. There is strong Northern Thai food in Langley already, so it took me awhile to get here. But it was worth it. The space is small and run by a family. The décor is uncharacteristically modern and white, and I didnt find it «cozy,» but it did feel clean and fairly bright. The dishes were delicious, relatively inexpensive, and presented well. If you are looking for Thai in Langley, give Naka a try.

Let me just start off say saying. run, walk, drive. do whatever you need to do to get here. With just one visit, Naka Bistro easily became my go-to place for authentic Thai/Laos food. Whether you live 5 minutes away or an hour away, I guarantee you won’t be disappointed(as the bf and I traveled nearly an hour to get here ;P) We came in for a late lunch on a Saturday afternoon so it wasn’t very busy. The restaurant was a bit on the small side but adorable and cozy. I love family owned restaurants, they just make you feel at home! We started off with a Thai Iced Tea, which I immediately fell in love with. Thai tea can sometimes be too sweet or too milky, but this was just perfect. Just the right amount of sweetness without overpowering the taste of the tea.(So good that I even wanted one to go. but I was too full afterwards) First up was the Kao Poon. You can’t go wrong with ordering this dish. Everything was perfect from the noodles to the broth! The crunchiness from the toppings(cabbage, bean sprouts, etc) went so well with the noodles. It was so flavourful and tasted just like how it would be cooked in a traditional Laotion household. We shared the Entrée Sampler which comes with Laos sausage, beef jerky and papaya salad along with some side dishes. We lucked out and got the last batch of beef jerky and boy am I glad we got to have some! The papaya salad was as authentic as it gets. The savoury fish sauce, sourness from the limes and chilli peppers. I just die. Literally, my mouth was on fire and I only requested two peppers. So if you aren’t into spicy food, I would recommend no peppers. Orrrrr maybe just one? Lol. Also, huge thanks to the girls up front for continuously refilling my water while I was dying from the spicy, but delicious papaya salad. Great food, great service. Nothing should be stopping you from going! ;)

Fresh, delicious, great atmosphere! family owned. Every dish was carefully made! Almost every dish comes with its own dipping sauce. Fresh and tasty and the price just hard to believe for the value in food and service. A new favorite!

Had dinner with our friends at their place last night. Read the review in the Vancouver Sun originally. Amazing food, great service! Small place, but it sparkles of cleanliness. We ate a variety of food. Enjoy their tasty Pad Thai, SaiGok(chili dip had heat) sticky rice complimented it well. The Curry Dish had a smooth flavour. Spring Rolls were well seasoned. Fruit Rice Pudding was a sweet end to our most enjoyable meal. Yes, it is in Langley, it is worth the drive for memories of Laos.

We were in Langley last night, and had planned to go to the Mexican place a few doors down from here. We had never noticed this place before, but tonight it caught our eye. Looked very nice, but no one else was in the place, so we were a little hesitate. Went in, sat down and looked at the menu. We ended up ordering the appy sampler and a pork dish. Appies were great, chicken skewers, egg rolls, salad wrap with pork, and some wontons with crap and cream cheese. Everything was awesome, although the chicken was a little over cooked… but I got over that quick. Then the main came. It was a slow cooked pork belly dish in some type of stock. It was amazing, so tasty. You gotta eat here!

Yes, 5 stars. Worth every single one of them. Naka Bistro is easily my favourite restaurant in Langley City. Authentic Lao & Thai cuisine, made with love(seriously, you can taste it) by a woman who knows. I’ve never been disappointed here. Clean tasting(no msg), freshly made food(even the pork rinds are homemade!), that leaves me planning my next visit… While I’m still there! The restaurant is simply and elegantly decorated, the music reflects the culture and the service is always phenomenal. I always feel really special when I come here, bc the young women who work front of house obviously care about their customers. They’re so helpful with any questions you might have about the menu too. Don’t walk on by. Open the door and treat yourself, to what I consider to be, Langley’s best Asian cuisine.(These are just my opinions, but I urge you to check it out & see if you agree).

I have found that a lot of the Thai restaurants in Langley have gone downhill over the years. I have been to Naka twice now and I love the food! The service is also great and a huge bonus… they have organic tofu. I have only ordered takeout but it is very nice inside and I would definitely go there for a sit down dinner.

I think this is the only restaurant in Metro Vancouver area that serves Laotian food. –I could be wrong. It took us almost an hour to drive here and I tell you it is worth it. We tried the Larb, spicy and sour minced beef and their sampler platter which includes Lao sausages, meat jerky, red tomato salsa, noodle, chicharon, fresh veggies and sticky rice. We also ate the Laos way –eating by hands(be daring and adventurous ;)) It was a fun experience and really enjoyed the food. We went here on the weekend when they are celebrating Laos New Year –so they gave us a complimentary dessert.
