New candy shop to Carrefour Laval. Actually Squish as I was told is a Montréal based company. The premise here is high end candy. $ 6 for a small bag or the promo when I was here was 3 for $ 15. Many options were available and samples were provided behind the counter by a worker offering to taste test. Many of the candies offered are gummies. I know what you may be thinking. You can get the same high sugar octane candies at Bulk Barn, Couche Tard or Jean Coutu for half the price that they sell here. Yes folks… you sure can. However the candies here have a different taste than the run of the mill Bulk barn Swedish berries or gummy bears. To me actually taste fresher and better. This is for one person who used to buy gummy bears and cola bottles by bulk at BB. However Bulk Barn is most likely the cheapest in QC to purchase candy. Then… I discovered Haribo gummy bears. You pay more but I believe quality and taste is like a party in your mouth. Haribo does claim to have invented the gummy bear in Germany many moons ago.
Back to Squish they are trying to conquer the market of premium candy. The store is bright and there is lots to check out if you are a sweet tooth. They have spent time on aesthetics such as a fresh clean store design and modern upscale looking packaging. Of course this is needed to convey an upmarket image.
Excellent as a gift or stocking stuffer or co-​worker (that you like) gift. Go for the 3 for $ 15 deal if you so desire and if available. Squish away.
