If you’re looking for fresh baked pitas with fresh veggies then Pita Hut Bakery is where you need to go! My favorite is the plain cheese pita. It’s so good that it needs nothing on it!(Or ask for a side of tzatziki for dipping! Yum!) Second favorite is the zatar and cheese pita with veggies, tzatziki and garlic sauce! They also have delicious stuffed pies that include spinach! Give them a try! It’s such a great treat! Did I mention their prices were extremely reasonable?! For less than a meal at McDonalds you can get a big pita stuffed with all the toppings you want AND you’ll be FULL.

Family owned, great food made in house from scratch. Inexpensive, delicious, lots of options, great service, very little wait times for food.

It’s tiny and it’s not fancy, but WOW is the food good! Everything is made fresh, in house, and by hand. Your food is made and baked when you order it, so everything is hot and fresh. There are only about 8 seats in the actual restaurant, but they do a lot of take away. The only things they bring in is an assortment of cookies, baklava and food prep items(tahini, sauces, etc.), but as much of it as possible is sourced within the capital region. How awesome is that?! It’s a family business, with lots of love. The food is great, the people are great, and I will go there as often as possible. It’s a relatively healthy option for a quick meal(if you can avoid the pistachio cookies… which I never can… om nom nom). The parking is rubbish in the area, though. Park on the street, if you can. It’s way easier to get around than if you were in the actual parking lot. We walk there from work, when possible.

Pita Hut Bakery is a little Lebanese restaurant and bakery in Leduc, right downtown by The Royal Bank and Petro Canada. My friend had recommended this bakery, and my family went there to order some pita bread for supper one day. First the restaurant isn’t very big, there are only a couple of tables and chairs, but the food here is good to take out. You can buy a pack of regular pita bread here, just look you could at a grocery store, but that’s not what you want to do here. What you want to do is you want to order a pita pie. There are two kinds. The flat pita pie they bake a giant flat pita and they top it with different toppings. My favourite is the zatar pita pie — zatar is this middle eastern spice blend that’s kind of tangy and it’s just delicious, but they have different meats and cheese toppings and you can different vegetables on top(kind of like a pizza). One pita pie is huge, about the size of a dinner plate, and could easily feed a person for dinner. Then there are the stuffed pita pies, which are folded over pita(kind of like a calzone) and the have similar fillings to the flat pita pies. My favourite was the spinach one. I thought the filling might taste like it does in a spanakopita, but it didn’t. It was kind of lemony and tangy and just really good. Pita Hut offers other food on the menu as well, including some salads and desserts. The baklava they have is amazing and I know it comes from a bakery on the westend of the city(can’t remember the name of it). Last time I was there the lady working insisted I tried a sample. I have a sweet tooth, but I usually find baklava is too sweet for me, but this was perfect. Whenever I’ve come into Pita Hut Bakery the staff have been really helpful and friendly. Leduc doesn’t have a lot of independent restaurant choices, and it’s nice to have a place like like Pita Hut to go to. Hopefully locals in Leduc, and hopefully Edmontonians will come down south for a drive to try Pita Hut and give them some support.
