When it comes to brunch, Canadians don’t mess around. When the menu says«French toast with a mountain of fruit,» a mountain of fruit you will get. The feel of Cora’s is the typical diner, a much more vibrant, happy version of iHop and the food also shares this characteristic. The menu is well thought out– Chez Cora is kind of a genius. We had a cheddar crêpe omelette and chocolate brioche French toast. I literally had to bring a hand up to my heart after bite #1 of the French toast. It was an umami moment. The omelette was also amazing. The hollandaise sauce rounded it out perfectly like a pair of earrings. Couldn’t even believe how good it was. I’m surprised we Americans have so many jokes about the Canadian. After having food at this place, I can never go to a diner in the States again without knowing the joke’s on me.
