Menu is pricey and the variety is very limited. I’d only recommend it if you want all you can eat ribs on Tuesday. The multi sauce gimmick is decent but I only liked 2⁄5 flavours.

I had supper this evening at Flavurs. I’d eaten here last fall and it was delicious! Tonight’s special was steak, fries and coleslaw for $ 12.99 so that’s what I ordered, exchanging the fries for mashed potatoes(for an extra $ 1) and not getting any coleslaw(I’m not a fan of cabbage). When Lindsay, my server, asked how everything was, I let her know the steak was cold(it definitely wasn’t cooked fresh-to-order). So she took it back and had it heated up. Garlic butter was added to it so it was warm, a bit greasy and gristly. The mashed potatoes weren’t buttery or creamy … they tasted like the insides of a baked potato had been cleaned out and mashed(I didn’t eat them all). Not a satisfying meal. I don’t usually have dessert but I was still hungry so ordered a molten lava cake. It was surprisingly cold(and not from the ice cream) … usually the cake and insides are hot or at least warm. The white chocolate inside wasn’t oozing out as it should be. It tasted okay. Lindsay was friendly.

I have mixed feelings about this place. I’ve been a few times and I never know what to expect. I like the creativity of the menu– they have things like mustard seed gravy and capers in their casear salads but it does not always translate into knock you out food. The food is ok. The smoked meat is good although I wouldn’t call it the best around. The nachos toppings are a little scarce. The Mac and cheese isn’t great. All in all, the food prices are ok. The beer prices are better(they had $ 12 Moosehead pitchers the last time I was there). They have a decent draught selection as well. I haven’t had a cocktail there but they are nicely priced. An old fashioned is $ 6 for example. They have daily specials(you can find them online) which are a really good value. For example, you can get a short rib burger(which is pretty good) for $ 5 from 3 – 6 pm on Friday and Saturdays. The waitstaff is nice but I wish the place had a bit more ambiance. They also take CIBC and TD reward points for those who want to use their credit cards for payment. In the end, check out the daily specials and don’t expect the world but it is better than Kelsey’s next door. It’s gets a 4 mainly for the specials, reward points and reasonably priced bar menu but might be closer to a 3 otherwise.

Had a free lunch voucher and to be honest I was very curious. So out we went for an early bite and we were not disappointed. The server was enthusiastic and had good product knowledge. We both opted for the pulled pork with fries and side of aoli for the fries. Portions were quite large and it was tasty! First impression was good and although the décor is a bit tired the food and service begs at least a return visit to explore the menu a little more in depth. Now it didn’t wow first time but the potential is there. Three stars because it met expectations but didn’t exceed.

The meat here was excellent as well as the sauces the chicken wings are huge very smoky crispy and almost as good just by themselves the ribs had very little fat they weren’t too dry or wet and just to that point where they don’t fall off the bone but could the half chicken was so flavourful the house and Caesar salad each had their own twist and were fantastic I liked every sauce but Detroit rock city stood out and yes that’s the name of the sauce everything from the seating the lighting the decore the quiet but hearable music good waitstaff and of course the food made this quite a nice dinner if you like meat you will guarantee love this place

Just… not good. A bunch of us(~10 people) got together for dinner here on a whim on a road trip back from the US. The rating it’d received suggested it was a solid choice; that rating was wrong. For starters, the waitress didn’t really pay any attention to our requests, as was evidenced by the things they got wrong.(Order substitutions, and drink orders). Second, the food was just boring. So little flavour. Ordered at our table were: — Wings — these tasted and looked deep fried, not smoked. Either way, zzzz. — Brisket — dryer than a popcorn fart and no flavour to speak of. — Caesar salads — the dressing was not good, and the croutons were stale. So bad that even my 3 year old daughter said, «mommy, these are yucky». — Beef ribs — I’m told these were actually acceptable. — Steak — Not bad. Not nearly worth its price tag, but not bad. — Fries — Awful. — Mac & cheese — The word used to describe it was, «meh». Oh, and the ‘selection of barbeque sauces” they provided with the wings were just differing levels of sugar paste. In all, I would not recommend this place to anyone. And *certainly* not at the pricetag their items commanded.
