After driving past this establishment for 8 years, I finally biked to this store to try the food. I ordered the $ 16.95 maki/nigiri plate. The maki had a nice flavor to the rice. Very impressed with the maki rolls. They were fresh and delicious. The sashimi was not to the quality I was used to. 8 could have caught them on a bad night but it was slightly soggy. Nice selection of nigiri however. My order was take out and it was quick/fast. I will return and review as takeout always has a risk factor can change the product.

I placed an order an hour before I wanted to pick up. When I got there they hadn’t even started. You would think they would be interested in a $ 90 lunch order on a Monday. It will be the last one from me. London has a lot of great sushi places.

Every time I’ve been here, the service has been prompt — you seat yourself and within minutes, you have a menu and tea. The quality of food is ok, but overpriced in my opinion. They have albacore tuna in the menu, but each time I’ve ordered it, they come back to tell me they don’t have it.

As one reviewer mentioned, this is a solidly mediocre sushi restaurant. Service: average. Attentive waitress. Food quality: average/below average. We ordered the sushi + maki medium boat, as well as the spicy sashimi rice bowl. The fish was alright — not great, but definitely not bad. However, the rice was a bit wet/mushy, which made the sushi and maki not that great. Also, the boat contained quite a bit of what we would consider the less great pieces — california roll, imitation crab maki, etc. Normally this would be OK, but definitely not worth the price. Lastly, the spicy sashimi rice bowl was quite small for the price. Overall: 2⁄5. The major thing for this restaurant is the location(convenient).

Worst sushi I have ever had hands down. Ordered salmon roll and crispy spicy salmon roll, and it was entirely rice, no meat whatsoever. I have never had sushi this bad and will never return, do not go here unless you want plain rice!!!

Went to this restaurant 2 years ago and have avoided it at all costs since. Randomly walked into the restaurant because I was craving sushi in the area during lunch, so went into the restaurant choosing an all-you-can-eat option. Thought it wouldn’t be too bad for lunch, but mannn was I wrong. They gave me a sheet to order from but informed me that we were ONLY allowed to order a maximum of 2 rounds. Uhh… it’s all you can eat but you can only order two times? Whut? And to enforce it, when the first round came, they would cross that column off almost as like they were counting down the remaining time you could order. Secondly, the sushi was not great. It was below average and sub-par to the AYCE price we were paying because the rolls were a bit packed with rice. The menu was also very limited in variety so in many instances we weren’t sure of what to re-order. Obviously service was not great as well. I thought it was sort of ridiculous to only order twice because I didn’t like that restriction but at the same time didn’t want to order a large amount of food and have so much extra that I’d get charged. They took away the sheet after 2 times of ordering, no questions asked, no accommodation if by sheer chance we were still hungry. I left the restaurant unsatisfied because the bill came up to around $ 50 – 60 for 2 people during lunch. And I only got 2 rounds? Blasphemy… considering the many other AYCE and non-AYCE sushi restaurants you could opt for in London. Don’t know if it’s changed since but two words: Never again.

Tried a few different rolls here and all of the fish was completely flavourless… I’m not sure how you manage that. Spicy tuna and spicy salmon had the flavour from the sauce but the fish itself didn’t taste like anything. On the plus side their miso soup was good and the server was friendly. If you’re looking for good sushi in this part of town though I’d suggest driving a couple minutes farther down Wellington to Shiki.

A solidly-mediocre suchi restaurant. The meal was served with a typical skimpy iceberg salad and bland miso soup. The fish lacked that bite exceptionally fresh fish will have, but that’s not to say that the meal wasn’t enjoyable. I suppose the food matched the price which was also middle-of-the-road. For a quick lunch, this place would seem like a good choice; for exceptional suchi, I think you’d be best to look elsewhere.

Fish is distinguishably fresh. Tempura is subtly sweet and crispy. Staff is friendly and welcoming. Boyfriend and I go often when we crave sushi. Try Kamaage /Spicy Salmon, Red Dragon, Crazy Roll. Yum! One of the best in London.

Been to this place a couple of times and came away fairly unimpressed both times. Not that it was bad or anything but everything was just middle of the road or ok. For me, what the food was lacking was flavour and seasonings. My chicken yaki soba was serviceable but bland(although my tempura appetizer was fine). The second time around, I had the beef teriyaki and again, it was serviceable but not exactly exciting or exceptional.

My hubby and I like ichiban. I usually end up getting the vegetarian bento and the seaweed salad. The seaweed salad may look small sitting in that martini glass, but there’s quite a bit of it. I love that they also put in cucumber and slices of avocado in it, too. The miso soup isn’t so great — it’s just broth that you sit right out of the cup. I’m more in favor of miso soup with tofu cubes and other stuff in it, but it’s not that bad. The service is always decent, we’ve never had a problem and since I don’t eat fish I can’t comment on the raw fish. The veggie sushi is always pretty good and fresh, and while it’s kind of on the pricey side, we don’t really have a whole lot of options for sushi in London. Also…this is something minor, but kind of annoying — they won’t stop playing the same Norah Jones album over and over. Every time we go, it’s the same Norah Jones CD. ENOUGH already! So…it may not be the best, but it’ll do.

In a city with few good sushi options, this is a good sushi option. Menu features your usual nigiri and maki options, plus some sashimi as well. They do have some other cooked Japanese dishes including tempura. Bento boxes at lunchtime are reasonably priced and usually pretty good. Prices are about what you would expect for decent sushi.

way overpriced. fish was not good. couldn’t tell difference between tuna, salmon, anything-mushy. Cook in back was tasting soup with a spoon he kept dipping back into pan… gross!
