I’ve been hesitant to get my eyebrows threaded here, but my trips back home are getting few and far between while my eyebrows become a complete disaster. I searched google and stumbled upon this place and figured«what the hell, give them a try». I would first like to point out that her studio is in her house in the basement, and there isn’t a clear sign in indicating where to go so I called to make sure I wasn’t just barging into someone’s residence. You have to walk to the back and go down the stairs(there is a sign out front saying the business name but not sign on the door). The place was small, very clean, and had about 5 other clients in the lobby area. Since I made an appointment I was allowed right in to get my eyebrows done and Kenwai was so nice. She made me feel instantly comfortable and did a great job with my brows! I am so glad that I won’t be a eyebrow disaster anymore :) TIP: Personally, I hate waxing because they always strip a layer of skin and burn my eyelids. If you haven’t tried threading yet, this is the place to do it!

In all honesty, I never expected my skin to recover to the extent it has with(owner) Kanwal’s help. My pores are smaller, my scarring is reduced, and my skin just feels healthier thanks to her care, advice, and the occasional stern look. While I originally only went to get my eyebrows threaded, the fact that she gave me practical advice based on my skin type and problems — advice that actually worked! — had me coming back to see if there was more to be done. So, a breakdown: Kanwal works out of her home in a dedicated space; it’s clean, well-lit, and considerably more comfortable than most spas I’ve been to because of the privacy: you don’t have to walk through crowds with wax or threading-reddened skin after a session with her. Her online booking app is absolutely wonderful, because it means no phone tag and a confirmed appointment, no chance of someone having written it down wrong or anything like that, and it sends you an email the day/night before to remind you. Her threading technnique is quick, clean, and never leaves broken-off hairs. She rarely breaks her thread(actually, I don’t think she ever has with me), and takes care to get every last hair in the target areas. Brow-shaping looks natural — no squared-off edges — and she takes into account your face shape when working. When threading other parts — chin, upper lip — I actually have less pain with Kanwal than with any other threading experience ever. When I first went to her for a facial, I had no basis for comparison, and frankly, since then, I tried one or two places while on vacation and found them severely lacking in terms of care and time spent making sure I felt pampered: I can wash my face at home, thanks. I’ve never felt rushed out or uncomfortable in Kanwal’s care. The first few facials I had with her focused largely on a detox mask, where she made sure I was comfortable with the strong lavender scent and tingliness of the mask before proceeding. She was thorough: facial cleanser, exfoliating scrub, massage, mask, steam, cleanup(which was careful: I didn’t find any of the maskleft, nor did any get on my clothes), and a discussion of how to proceed afterwards. One thing I appreciated was the advice on nutrition as well as general skin care; another was the lack of pushing a specific product. Suffice to say, when I went away for a month, I severely missed her.
