I have been going Lavish Nails for over 2 years now. I am glad I found this place while renewing my driver license next door. This place is very new and clean and up to date. The girls here always welcome me by my name and make me feel very relax and not rushed. I usually get the spa pedi and shellac manicure. Hidden gem !

I had seen the photos of Lavish Nails Spa pop up on my Unilocal feed and thought it looked quite nice. The prices weren’t too shabby either so I thought I would give it a try. It worked out that I was going to drive by so I stopped in for a quick pedicure. The ladies there were very friendly and gladly took me as a walk-in. They set up the chair right away and I was able to relax with the massage features on. The girls here speak English fluently which is something I liked because I’m a social person and love to chat. Their selection of nail polish was a bit underwhelming. They didnt have the colour I wanted but I found one I liked. They have OPI and China Glaze for the most part. I’ve seen more selection at other salons. Sadly, no happy conversation or smiling face can hide the fact that their tools were not freshly sanitized when they started working on me. She picked up tools out of a plastic bin that had been sitting there from before(see photo). The clippers looked rusted and I dont know how many people had their cuticles pushed back with the same metal tool. I feel like this is a huge no no… at least for me. My favourite salon I go to brings out a packaged set of tools so you know that your getting a fresh set to avoid passing on bacteria and who knows what else! I never want to shame a business, I really dont. The girls here work HARD. The customers here LOVE them, you can tell because they all know each other by name, but I dont know if I can get past the whole tool thing. I’m giving them a star for their customer service. The employees here are really great, but this salon needs to clean up their act if they want me to return.
