I quit here for my own reasons. I wasn’t let go I left. FACT. The staff here have been contacting future employers and have been trying to sabotage my future employment with other spots in town. I worked my ass off here, increased sales on all fronts, made the Martini Bar a desirable place to go again, got ripped off 76 hours in fifteen weeks, and found some serious tax evasion and skimming(CRA has been called) going on that I wanted no part of. There is a major lack of communication with management, the General Manager has no people skills and the place has some serious black mould issues that have been brought to the attention of the local Health & Safety Board. I know for a fact their safe food handling practices are garbage because they go through kitchen staff daily because they can’t keep them. They definitely can’t keep up with proper training and I’m surprised more people haven’t gotten sick here with the raw foods. I had issues keeping good bar staff because of the sub standard conditions also. Lotsa bad things going on here and from what one of their current managers tells me is they’ve gone through seven managers in a year because of the sub standard evironment. When it rains the roofs leak and it comes through the light fixtures and electrical and it’s only a matter of time before the place bursts into flames and do you want to be in the building when it does? While I was there I brought all these concerns to the General Manager Alex Butkus only to have them disregarded. It is not a safe place at all. They hid a ton of black mould recently when they patched up the roof in the lower lounge on the second floor. They don’t care about their patrons and they’ve brainwashed their young inexperienced staff to believe what they’re doing is okay. It’s not okay. I am indeed a pissed off employee but everything I’m saying here today is 100% true. BUYERBEWARE! I WOULDCAUTIONYOUABOUTDININGHEREORFREQUENTINGTHISPLACE.

This place fluctuates. So ill rate it on my most recent visit. — Staff — The server was extremely attentive, clearing the table quickly, refilling glasses while we were up getting food, quick to seat us. Nothing negative. The cook was amazing. Personable. Engaging while you waited, what else could you ask for. — Food — The food is average and sometimes above average. Depending on freshness. It’s a great place to grab a quick«fill your stomach» lunch during the work day. — Overall — I keep going back because I know its going to be at least good, if not great. Its worth going to, as lunch is only 13 after tax. All you can eat. Fresh food. Can be healthy depending on which toppings and sauces you pick.

Ok concept but I don’t love the execution. They use the same stir sticks for meat and veg dishes. Sauces and meats are all mixed together and contaminate the veg dishes. Very unappealing to me. I probably won’t return. Also too many random unlabelled spices and sauces. Changes that need to be made: Dedicate 2 wooden sticks and portion of grill to veg only. Reduce number of sauces offered to 4 or 5 good sauces. Reduce number of spices offered to 4 or 5 specialty good blends. Decently priced drinks and friendly staff.

Great place and kind staff. My dad is in a wheelchair and LOVES this place– I just go in and ask he staff to let us in the ramped back entrance. Just make sure you don’t go when it is swamped or your wait may be a little long… But the food is worth the wait, if you have the time!

This is one of my girlfriend and my fav spots to eat on the weekend. You grab a bowl and work your way to the fresh raw meats. They are put under ice to maintain the proper temperatures. We have been there 100 times and have never gotten food poisoning.(For the people who have a problem with that.) You choose a meat and then can chose a variety of vegetables, noodles, seasonings and sauces. The bowl is then dropped in a huge fire grill and cooked right in front of you. 99% of the time it’s cooked to perfection. Absolutely delicious! On the server side of things, you are given wraps and rice. We also choose to grab the dips that are available(3 for $ 3.99). We get shredded cheese, Cajun mayo and sour cream. Adding these to the wraps make it THAT much better. They also have a menu and are licensed if you’re feeling like a few drinks. There is also a patio which I’ve never been on but looks nice! The only concern I’ve had at this location is when it gets busy. Your food can sit on the grill and get overlooked accidentally. This is why my girlfriend and I choose to go on Sunday. Usually not too busy around noon. Come check this place out if you haven’t already. On weekends they offer an all you can eat buffet OR a one bowl deal(currently at $ 8.99). If you stick your bowl properly, one bowl is more then enough. If you go up for more then you’re either not doing it right or really hungry. I can usually get 4 huge wraps out of 1 bowl. Great price and great food! Just don’t come when overly busy!

Good idea, poorly executed. The basic premise is you go assemble your noodle/rice dish with fresh ingredients buffet-style, then line up and the guys will cook it for you on a «Mongolian Grill». In reality, you spend your entire meal in line to cook your food and rarely spend a moment at the table. Unless you coordinate each refill with your group you will barely spend any times with your group. Secondly, and most importantly, this place is food poisoning waiting to happen. They have raw shrimp, chicken, beef and other meats out on the buffet ready to be assembled, but they are open to the air, and everyone else is handling them(with tongs, but still). I didn’t have any issues, but definitely stayed away from the raw meat.

I have been going to the Mongolian Grill for years, fell in love with it from day 1. The place is always clean, and the staff are friendly and helpful! The food is delicious and the value for the meal is really good. I’ll definitely eat here again. :)

Got food poisioning last night from this sub-par, dirty no service restaurant. We were handed bowls and then abandoned. My friend wanted to order appetizers and left without eating(because the waitress never came back), a least she was spared the food poisioning

Have eaten here numerous times and have enjoyed it each time. Only a couple times did they start to run out of ingredients did they not refill — possibly due to it being near the end of the night but still. Every other time all dishes for ingredients were full. They give you rice and tortillas with the buffet its good. Cooks are always friendly and most of the servers are attentive. I’ve never had anything other than the stir fry buffet as I love it! My son also loves it! Picking whatever he wants all the way through. He also loooves tipping the cooks as they ding the bell when they receive one. Great place for a couple friends or a bunch of people. Good selection of ingredients for stir frys from meats to veggies. We will definitely return!

Like other posters, I’ve been to other Mongolian BBQ style restaurants in Canada and the USA and this wasn’t anything to write home about. Fiancé and I went on a Sunday and used a Groupon(praise here, we were treated just like any other customer despite having a discount coupon). The meats and vegetables that they had out were fresh and looked appealing. The meat selection was OK, the noodle selection was good(I love udon noodles and that was the first time I’ve seen them at a Mongolian BBQ) but the vegetable selection was rather skimpy and when things ran out they didn’t refill — even though it was 7pm. They had a few recipes(on chalkboards above the veggies/meat — I don’t think most people noticed them), but unless you’ve done this before it’s really difficult to get a good combo. Here’s a free tip owners, if you’re reading this, put out laminated recipe cards on people’s tables! Have your waitstaff point them out and feature a recipe per day! Your waitstaff will probably get better tips because they seem more helpful(and our waitress definitely could have been a lot more attentive). Oh, and one other thing, figure out a way to manage your grill lineups. The wait(from getting into line to walking away from the grill with your food) was easily 45 minutes at one point. In summary, it was good — if you know what you’re doing and don’t mind waiting — but not worth full price.

We love Mongolian grill, but this location(which we frequent the most due to family in London) is not exactly the cream of the crop. The food selection is not as large as other locations, but the biggest problem is the grilling staff. When you get the food there are two options: burned to a crisp, and still half frozen. Sometimes you’ll get really lucky and have one side burned to a crisp while the other side is still frozen. That’s really the best of both worlds here. If the staff paid more attention to the food and less to hitting on people and chatting, the food would be better.

All across malls in the states, there is a chain of mongolian bbq places. It is cheap, delicious and filling. As I am in London for another month, I decided to give this place a try. The waiters were not attentive. We sat in out booths for five minutes before anyone gave us a menu or asked for something to drink. As my boyfriend and I walked over to the food bar, I got pretty excited about their meat selection. Their vegetable selection, however, well it wasn’t as appealing. So I grabbed some lamb, veges, noodles, and ladled the sauce on. Now, I love variety, but I am not a pro, I had no idea how to use 50% of the dry ingredients in my stir fry for it to be good. I ladled in about 3 ladles full of their chili one and hoped for the best. The guy that cooked my food was very nice, but that didn’t transition to the food. Because they are placing these dishes directly onto the hot grilling place, the stuff sort of burns onto the surface. I am used to the workers pouring water and some oil on it so it doesn’t stick, but they didn’t do it here. They gave me back a plate that was covered in black, burned flakes. In conclusion, we didn’t leave a tip for the waitresses because they failed me, although it was nice because you can leave a tip directly to the cooks, who deserved it, and I am never coming back here again. I will just have to wait to get back home and eat mall food

I have been to Mongolian Grill before and I enjoyed the create-you-own-dish buffet, thus I decided to try the one in London. This Mongolian grill in London only had the raw food section(unlike the Mongolian Grill in Markham) and selection was ok. There were your standard meats and shrimp and fish. They ran out of fish when we where there and they never brought out more… The cooking show was still pretty cool(large grill and wooden sticks) and the food was decent. There was rice and tortillas at the table and complimentary soup and salad(don’t really understand that since we were at a buffet…) The dessert and drinks were extra. Overall, this Mongolian Grill was a dissapointment after going to the one in Markham. I wouldn’t recommend this particular restaurant, but the one in Toronto was good(see my other review).

I really like this place. The food is good, and the staff friendly. I have 2 complaints(that aren’t really the fault of Mongolian grill) 1. Parking downtown London is terrible, biggest reason I rarely come here. 2. Sometimes this place gets too crowded and becomes annoying. But other than that it’s great.

I like this place because it offers a unique experience. You choose your ingredients(choice of rice or noodles, various meats, various vegetables, lots of sauces and spices), bring your concoction to a giant grill and watch it cook in front of your very eyes. You have the option of going up just once or all-you-can-eat. I recommend the all-you-can-eat because some recipes are disastrous and the price difference isn’t huge. I’ve had to wait for a table for over an hour and then wait in line again to select ingredients and then wait in line AGAIN to have my meal cooked. By the time you get any food into your stomach, you’re probably not hungry anymore. They invite you to wait at the martini bar upstairs, which is comfortable, but adding a few drinks to your dinner bill isn’t within a student budget. It’s not a great place to catch up with friends since there’s a lot of getting up from your seat. If you have patience and like«different» restaurants, Mongolian Grill is something to experience. I recommend following their recipes, at least loosely, because it turns out we can’t all be gourmet chefs.
