You need more True Taco in your life. Fresh ingredients, authentic food and excellent service. Old East Village is a cool neighbourhood in transition and is emerging as an excellent food destination. This restaurant is an anchor, without a doubt. I enjoy their tacos, but I’n told everything in the menu is stellar. Venture into OEV and find out for yourself!

Oh my god! I’ve driven by this place countless times, today was my first time here and I’m kicking myself for not coming sooner! Each table has a great selection of hot Sauces if those don’t cut it they also have fantastic house made hot sauce as well. Service was great, food came out quickly, and was absolutely amazing! Prices were reasonable, not too expensive at all. Everything tastes authentic, great atmosphere as well. Also, try the margaritas! They’re stunning and delicious. Already recommending to my friends, 10⁄10 I’ll be back

Honestly the best burrito I’ve ever ate… Was hoping for a fast burrito place when i walked in. Was surprised to see its a full on dine in restaurant. This burrito was by far one of the best I’ve ever ate in my life friendly staff great service, food took a bit long for being the only one in there but damn… So worth it. Will visit every time I’m in London

True taco is my favourite central/South American cuisine in the city. They started in the farmers market, where I first got addicted to their little tacos. They’re now across the road from their first brick and mortar establishment, and though it is much bigger, they’ve kept the intimate experience between patrons and staff. The area can be a bit shady, but it is absolutely worth going. I usually get the pork belly tacos and some empanadas, and I would recommend both. It’s nice to see a business grow yet keep their small home made roots.

True Taco exceeded my expectations. The simplicity of the flavours was refreshingly sublime. Our server was very friendly and prompt. If you want want AUTHENTIC Salvadoran food, this is the place!

Great service, friendly server that was very knowledgeable. Food is fresh and tastes out of this world. I crave it often. Have tried many different items from there menu and haven’t had a bad one yet. Lots to choose from but not overwhelming. It’s not processed greasy food, its fresh flavorful that temps the taste buds.

Taco Toonie Tuesday! First visit here, although I have had their pupasas at the farmer’s market. I needed and wanted tacos today and this place is so close to home I had to stop in. I picked 3 tacos: chorizo, pulled beef and bean. I said no to cilantro because… ew, so the toppings were onion and lime. Simple yet jammed with delicious traditional flavour. Amazing soft corn flour shells. I also ordered a limeade with rum which hit the spot. Very sweet and friendly staff, they seem so happy that you came to eat there. And for good reason, yum.

Stopped here for some breakfast while at the farmers market. I’m bloody glad I did. Simple menu, great staff and kick ass food. Had the breakfast combo. Very nicely done. The tortilla was nice as were the scrambled eggs. Could taste the ingredients. Top it off the hot salsa. Omg. Yes it is hot, yes it is delicious! Taste all the fresh ingredients in it. Def a place to visit.

I been here 2 times and both times were satisfying. Fairly priced menu. If you like authentic Mexican food without the huge crowds and the loud chatter, come here.

The food is good. I enjoy spicy and they make it spicy. Some dishes have generous portion, others not. As far as I know their food is close to the real stuff. Service is ok people are friendly. Try their beef tongue nacho it is very different.

Just moved to London from Southern California, which is littered with excellent hole in the wall taquerias and so, feeling homesick, I was desperate to find one up here and came across this place. It’s a combo of Mexican and Salvadorian cuisine, but I get the impression it’s definitely more influenced by the Salvadorian side, as the Mexican dishes I ordered did not resemble what I was expecting at all. They weren’t bad, but not what I was craving. Their homemade chips and beans are great though and I’d make the drive out there for those alone! I will probably come back with different expectations and try some of the Salvadorian dishes, but if I’m in the mood for a gut-bomb of a cheese enchilada I’ll have to look elsewhere.

I met True Taco in Victoria Park London International Food Festival. What I can say is authentic real and good. The tortilla was fresh and just like you would get in Mexico, the beef was not the ground beef we are use to here, it is like chopped beef, with seasoning and some cilantro… that’s it not the Americanized stuff with too much stuff on it… fresh ingredients so you can taste each ingredient. But The Jalapeño Rellenos… wow this was great Jalapeño Pepper Stuffed with a sharp cheese and served on their fresh tortilla with chopped cilantro what a treat I definitely will be going to their location Dundas St London to get some more True Taco… very authentic thanks for bringing some of your home to Canada True Taco

Stopped by two days ago for lunch. Not a busy restaurant, and I really love the area it is located in. Three in our party, and two of us weren’t as hungry as the other, so we ordered a beef burrito to share between two people. I’ve been there once before for the chorizo tacos which were less than great. Time to give it a second try with a different menu item. I noticed several things. i. Even though we mentioned that we were sharing one item between two people, the server neglected to bring out a second plate — even when we asked for one. No problem, you don’t like cheap people. ii. We ordered sodas around the table. They were presented as cans, without glasses, and all of them had a dark, dirty substance, either dirt or black mold around the top of the popcan. GROSS! iii. The service was half-hearted at best. No refills of our water, no check-ins to see how we were doing. I’ve eaten great mexican and el-salv. food. This place has all the potential to be a quaint, cute little hole-in-the-wall answer to my food fetish, but alas, disappoints at every turn. The chorizo tacos I mentioned previously somehow came to just over seven dollars with a soda for two of the laziest chorizo tacos I’ve ever eaten. I don’t want to sound like I am crazy here, but I’ve eaten great tacos and feel like I could teach them a thing or two about making something worth eating… or at least worth seven dollars!
