A it late in my review but was here last night for a late night binge! Wow what a surprise and what a treat, sure it has asian flare and also western flare but the staff are so extremely helpful and understanding in fact they go above and beyond any restaurant of this size I’ve reviewed. Let me begin by saying I ordered the spice Dan Dan, my friend the Pad thai. We also order spring roles and Kim chi balls.(yes yummy deep friend goodness) Staff note — I want to point out directly that the staff here go way above and beyond from your choice to service. In fact while I was eatting ym meal and elderly couple in there late 60s came in very hungry and just needed something to eat. They had heard of asian food before but never tried it. The lady at the order desk actually came out and around to point up at the big order board and take her time to explain each option. The elderly couple were very grateful (it actually made me very happy) Anyways later when their food was ready and taken to the table they were surprised at the amount and the cashier even explained what everything was and even how to use chop sticks but gave a fork also! Where else do you find this service??? Clean place, location is just ok but it quite given the amount of people that go in and out. Pros — STAFF, STAFF, STAFF atmosphere Cons — location(for me haha)

I have been to Wok Box in the past and the service was acceptable. Unfortunately, my experience most recently was disappointing to say the least. After waiting in line to order, the cashier failed to record my request for no bean sprouts. After reviewing the order I politely added that I wished for no bean sprouts. While waiting for the dishes to be prepared we sat down. It was great to see the staff bring our dishes to our table and take the number sign away. Just when I was excited to eat I quickly noticed the dreaded bean sprouts I asked twice not to be included. I quickly advised the staff who had just handed us our dishes and she swiftly took the dish away. Their«solution» was to pick them out of the dish with only some success, the rest they left for me to pick out. While eating the Hong Kong Spice I found the noodles to lack any amount of sauce. As well, little by the way of green peppers and onions. Instead there was soggy bits of lettuce leaves and pieces of bean sprouts. Moving on, the staff in general seemed pleasant despite the poor quality of food and presentation. The restaurant was loud between the staff singing to the music and the music itself. Based on this most recent experience I am not likely to return to Wok Box and I am highly unlikely to recommend it to anyone else.

I will admit the layout is a bit confusing for ordering purposes, but a quick inquiry sorted that out. And it was very appreciated to get a run down of the menu including the list of veg*n choices. We were given a menu to browse at our leisure because there were customers behind us(who also sat to browse), but we still had to return to the cashier to place our order. Then your food is brought to you via a number. Not a bad system, imo. I got a regular sized Sweet Mongolian with chicken and I kept the udon noodles, but was asked if I wanted to substitute. The large bowl came out quick, steamy and smelled so good. Tasted great, too. I’m not super familiar with all the Asian flavours, so I went with a taste I was comfortable with. However, if you want to branch out, they will let you sample the sauces. Overall, I think this place works as a step up from food court offerings because your meal is prepared fresh but isn’t expensive like a full sit down restaurant.

First impression wasn’t strong. Was uncertain about their ordering procedure. Walked up to the cash register where we thought we had to order, but then seated after a minute and then given menus. Would have been nice if given a better sense of direction via staff or signage. The service was good, though not busy at all for weekend lunch. Our server checked on us a couple times during our visit. The food was ok. The Phở soup was decent, although the Butter Chicken Nan-wich, that my friend got was sloppy and lacked the butter chicken part. The ambiance was also lacking, especially compared to the Masonville location. They seem like two different restaurants. The booths are nice enough, but the overall vibe is reminiscent of a cafeteria. Will not be revisiting.
