This place replaced Beard Papa’s in Pacific Mall. It’s a dinky little stall in the smaller food court on the second floor, and it serves drinks (coffee, tea, fresh juices, Kirkland brand juice boxes, etc) and small eats (various northern Chinese style cold veggie dishes, Chinese burgers, hot dogs, omelettes, toast, croissants, etc). The man at the counter does not speak much English, but pointing to the menu doesn’t complicate things too much.
Had:
Chinese burger ($ 2.99) — One of the best I’ve had in Toronto. A Chinese burger is a sandwich made with what I can only describe as the Chinese equivalent of an English muffin, but larger, crispier on the outside, and softer on the inside. This is sliced in half and filled with chopped up marinated pork (slightly spicy, quite savory, slightly sweet) and cilantro. The one I got here had very good bread (crisp, held up well, and heated up), and the meat was juicy and flavorful. It was also a very good portion for $ 2.99. I’m definitely going to be back for this.
Watermelon juice ($ 3) — Portion size was about a cup of regular bubble tea. Fresh watermelon, but not sweet enough. I think there was too much water. Also not cold enough.
Come for the Chinese burger.
