This is the first model train speciality store I have ever stepped foot in, so I cannot compare it against other stores. Based on my personal experience, George’s Train is a neat toy train store for adult and young. When I asked for suggestions for Christmas gifts, the staff was courteous and showed me a few sets. Things aren’t cheap. A starter set starts from $ 130 to over $ 300. I searched eBay for price comparison. eBay is *not* cheaper for the same brands and quality, plus you must pay for shipping. George’s carries mainly HO scale, N scale and O scale models. There are additional model buildings and rails, so one can expand one’s existing set. I get from many pictures on boxes that the complete set-up can be as elaborated as one can afford. I imagine that the first splurge is the hardest. Yet once you are hooked, you have a lifetime hobby that you would want to pass down to you children. The store is not visible from the street. It is located at the back of an office building on Alden Road. There is a small sign with a pointer along side the driveway entrance of the building. Ample parking. The website says George’s Train is the oldest established stores for model trains in North America, and it has been in business since 1962.
