Hon Tattoo Studio

I had a really great experience at Hon Tattoo studio! All the employees were very nice and they did a great job on my tattoo. They finished my tattoo in 20 minutes and were great at finding what I wanted. I will definitely be going back for my next tattoos. :)

This is a huge challenge of my life. I was always afraid of getting a tattoo because you only have one chance. That’s why finding a professional tattoo artist is very important. After I saw my friend’s tattoo, I started to love it and then ask him where he got his tattoo. He recommend hon tattoo studio. And when I first came in. The receptionist at the front served me very friendly and being very professional. He asked me plenty of questions just to make sure I will get the exact one I want. The guy is very stylish and his tattoo is so cool. I feel more and more confident of this shop. Then after we agreed on everything. I scheduled an appointment with shark. Omg. He is so artistic and talented. It took me 3 session to finish. I’m really satisfied with the result. I’m very excited of my first tattoo. Thank god I found this place. I will definitely refer my friends who wants to get the tattoo to hon tattoo studio.

I decided to get a design that I wanted for a couples years now tattoo’d on my shoulder and after seeing some good reviews on Unilocal,decided to try Hon Tattoo Studio out. I give it a 5 stars because not only did they allow me to have 3 of my friends wait for me (not a good idea out of respect for the artist), but they were okay with it! Although it took a little longer than I thought, the receptionist was very patient in explaining to my mom and I about the procedure and design, the artist was very careful and professional with my tattoo and the place was clean and minimalistic. All in all, had a great experience here and would recommend to anyone who is new to getting a tattoo or wants more.

Just had three beautiful butterflies done on my shoulder, such an amazing job! Shark is a Master of his craft. I had other work done in different shops, this one takes the cake. Friendly, professional and truly artistic. Also, something that was very important to me, GREAT listening and communication skills — everyone makes sure that you get exactly what you want. Terrific experience, definitely my new tattoo «go to» place!

Home from France, visiting family for Christmas, and my sister and I decided to get new tattoos. So happy we found Hon Tattoo Studio! These guys are awesome! Clean and comfortable shop, with very friendly and talented artists. And they care about their customers’ satisfaction! After getting back to my sister’s last night I felt I’d like some of the lines a bit darker on a part of one of them. I sent an email this morning and they fit me right in. They went over and above what I was expecting/​asking for! Thanks again guys! I’ll be back in May when I’m visiting again from France! À bientôt !

This is a new establishment open for about 6 months with a few pros and cons.
The pros:
— new shop that’s clean and tidy
— 5 artists avaliable
— plenty of free parking in complex
— friendly staff where they’re engaging so you don’t feel awkward/​uncomfortable
— walk-​in are welcome, we stayed passed closing at 8pm on a Monday but the Plaza closes at 10pm
— inside a Plaza with a food court where you can walk around or grab a bite if you need to kill time before your designated walk-​in appointment
The Cons:
— only 2 chairs avaliable. If my math is right, you’ll have conflicts with 5 artists where your limited to availability
— 1 senior artist nickname «Shark» that came from Pmall «Phat Buddha Elite» who is the co-​owner. Heard great things about him but you’ll need to make reservation of course because he’s mainly booked
— no female artist, not a concern of mine but some might prefer this
— no aftercare instructions, I’ve been to «Way Cool Tattoo» for my last 2 tattoos & they always provide instructions. Also this shop is the first I’ve seen to use shrink wrap vs bandaged
— no room with privacy but they do have a divider. Can be awkward if your doing a full piece where your half or fully nude
Overall, this shop has potential and requires a few tweaks here and there but it’s no comparison to the bigger chain tattoo parlors in GTA/​Markham. For me, I would be looking at the bigger chain parlors as I’m looking for a bigger work done with more experience with water colour which may lead me to «Chronic Ink» since it’s a forever piece. However my sister was looking for simple lettering she found online on her bicep and didn’t want to wait a month with big chain parlors. She didn’t have the luxury to get inked by «Shark» but «San» (Not sure if it’s spelled right but he’ll be the Korean guy) was gentle and friendly.
Looking forward to see this shop grow.

I had my tattoo done here by SHARK and i am absolutely love it! This was my first so I was kinda nervous but everyone at Hon made me feel very comfortable, top notch customer service I must say, thank you all again

New tattoo shop at first markham place, everyone! That’s something you don’t see a lot, right in the heart of markham.
The store itself has a nice banner and it’s a clean, brightly lit shop. Right when you walk in, you can tell it’s sanitary. There’s also a lot of space so it’s not all squished together.
My friend got a piece done here, and it looks absolutely beautiful with perfect detail and symmetrical lines all around. The artist who opened this shop, Shark, originated from the pacific mall tattoo store, Phat Buddha. He’s SO talented, with a natural talent for asian art, realism and colour pieces. We call him the ‘friendly giant’ because he’s got a really gentle hand and your tattoo won’t hurt at all when you’re with him. He’s also one of the most smiley tattoo artists I’ve ever met and if it’s your first tattoo, he’ll definitely make you feel better. He did my boyfriend’s mom’s first tat and he made it very comfortable for her and she didn’t end up feeling much. It turned out beautiful!
Overall, very good for a first shop! Hope to stop by to get a piece from him some day in the near future. Gaaaahh, can’t wait.
