The newest library in Markham. That is as of today of course. I know they’re going to build one soon on 14th and Middlefield, so it’s still new. Cornell is a awesome community center and in the awesome community center, houses a small library. Yes it’s clean, yes it’s new, yes it feels slightly spacious, but I feel like it’s one of the smallest libraries and houses the least books in Markham. However, I cant deny that it is a quiet area and located in a rather remote area with comfy chairs equipted with work rooms behind glassed doors. For parking, there’s a huge parking building and please remember to bring your ticket in to the reception and VALIDATE your ticket or else you will need to pay, I believe it is $ 8 per hour. This is probably because Cornell Community Center is directly linked to Markham Stouffville Hospital.

Incredible new community centre with a wonderful library attached! The library is located near the Hospital and it’s just beautifully remote. The place itself looks massive from the outside and has a parking garage that is multi-leveled and covered from the elements(rain, snow, etc). For the small time being, it appears as though parking is free, but that could change at any point. The place itself is far from most things and is in a quiet little area of town. I love it. The library itself resembles such. It’s a modern look with incredible décor and is the perfect place to read a book or get some work done. The entire atmosphere of the place is incredible. You have such a quiet library situated next to a centre where basketball, badminton, and racquetball games are going on right across the hall. There is plenty of seating in this library and it’s hardly ever packed. There are several computers situated against the walls and lounge chairs littered all around the endless shelves of brand new books(being that it’s a new library). There are quiet study rooms and a study hall where you have to be at your absolute quietest. The furniture and the sheer comfort of the lounge chairs should garner this library 5 stars. You’ve got modern looking chairs located near giant plasma TV’s(which are never on) and a mock fireplace that acts as a heater. There are stained glass windows which look nice(though they actually hurt my eyes when trying to read near them). The entire library is clean, quiet, calm, and comfortable. This is easily the best library I’ve been to in the Markham area.

Brand new library! Of course I am mighty excited! A lot of green initiative and environmental friendly concepts has been integrated into the space. Love the colour theme too, so full of energy! Smell of paint and brand new books! Shelves and shelves of them… A multi level parking garage! Something in life that good can be free sometimes! Free open Wifi for everyone… But if you are into other language books, you would be disappointed, there are only 1 small shelf for other language right next to those hundred of Japanese comic books, maybe I should just read those instead…
