Halo-halo in a Chinese mall? Here I come. This food stall selling Filipino snack food opened recently. I must have visited on a day the store just opened or was getting ready to open for business… no signage up yet, a menu was displayed but no prices shown. But the lady behind the counter was all smiles and eager to serve. Now, onto their halo-halo: shaved ice has a nice texture and consistency, topped with a hodgepodge of ingredients from ube(purple yam), red beans, chickpeas, to jackfruit and some type of fresh fruit, and some jelly-like object. It’s one large cup of icy sweetness! If you don’t like fairly sweet dessert or drinks, halo-halo may not be for you but there are other/savoury items on the menu such as Shanghai Lumpia(spring rolls) and sausages. I’d certainly be willing to try on my next visit. This food stall is tucked behind the«lucky bridge» at the entrance of Heritage Village on upper level of Pacific Mall. A little hard to find, but worth a try if you want something different than Chinese eats.
