I haven’t been to Teavana to get my favourite iced pineapple kona pop blueberry bliss tea for a few months so I had to stop by to get it on a very happy day shopping at Markville mall. The store was empty as I was their only customer upon walking in. I ordered my drink as usual and went to pay after they started making my drink. To my ASTONISHINGSURPRISE my drink has went up $ 2.71 in price. I used to pay $ 3.14 and now it’s gone up to $ 5.85. So I asked the lady and she said no it’s always been that price. And I told her I always drink this and never paid this much… she just kept giving me the run around that it’s always been this price and the tea is a premium looking at me as if I was making things up. Then she disregarded me and 2 seconds later rambled with her coworker next to her about how another staff is supposed to come in and she’s been working all day waiting for her relief. What kind of customer service is this after it expressed an concern of something about your product and you give me an half ass answer then to rant about your job in front of a customer? Enough said, as someone who is currently on maternity leave with a new baby where time is GOLD, everything I eat and drink, every place I go to is very limited I would NEVER go back to Teavana again in my life. They have lost a long time customer.

I really appreciate how they give samples because who doesn’t love samples?! However, I would not recommend this place as their tea is very very expensive. Also, there was one time that I came here because they had given out coupons online for a free iced tea. The staff that served me was nice at first before she gave me my free drink, she tried selling their tea products in a very forceful manner and I would have bought some if it weren’t that expensive, so I told her I was uninterested. Right after I said that, darkness fell upon her face and her smile quickly disappeared. She didn’t even look at me when she gave me my drink. When I said thank you, she did not say anything and turned away. This type of customer service is unacceptable, you cannot expect that every customer will make a purchase when they go into your store and if you are going to give out coupons, you should know that most people will only come because it is free! If you cannot handle that, then do not give free coupons.

This newly opened Teavana’s location is inside Markville Mall close to the Urban Eatery Express. Due to the limit in space, this Teavana is the smallest of all the one I been to. Definitely get crowded even during a weekday, as customers can get sample of 4 different kind of tea! Not too many items or display as I was trying to look at one of the sale items I saw online. The sample tea though nice but most of them are sweetened to be way too sweet at least for my taste. Staff are helpful but they are just all too over whelmed.
