There was an advert in the paper with a coupon but didn’t mention it was for Online Only — wasted a trip.

I read the 2 other reviews and well my experience was a good one. I went to shop for a high end rice cooker that was 299 on . It was 289.00 black friday sale at this store and NOTAX, which was a plus. I saved the tax plus ten dollars. They tried to sell me on the 80.00 worth of coupons but I would have to pay the tax.(I did need those other bowls I saw that cost me another 24.00) but I still resisted the temptation to bring home even more stuff and just said NO. I guess I did the right thing since I would have to return to use the coupons?) Today I am thinking that I spent 317 anyhow, might as well of spent 327.00 and gotten the 80 dollar coupon? So pay 40 for tax and get 80 of junk? Yeah, i sort of like the thought of that… LOL. My cupboards at home are full of china etc. I don’t even know what I would of purchased. Please message me to tell me that I did the right thing? LOL, have a great one! bye for now.

The Home Basics sell the same products as NeoHome right next door, however, they offer coupon rebates with electronic purchases. Those rebates can range from $ 20 to $ 80 depending on how expensive the item is. I came here to purchase a hot water dispenser and received a $ 20 coupon rebate card, but was not allowed to use it till my next visit. On my next visit, I tried to use the $ 20 coupon card on a small Rice Cooker that came with a $ 80 rebate coupon. The sales staff told me I can’t use the $ 20 on an item that had a coupon offer. So after purchasing the rice cooker, I had $ 100 to spend. The problem is, the rest of the products this store carries are made in China and Dollar Store quality with escalated prices. The shoe rack on display had visible cracks and splints and a storage trolley was missing a wheel. So, at the end, I don’t know if that $ 100 credit is worth anything. The service here is horrible. The sales staff must be on commission — they stand right beside you like hawks, with stoney, unfriendly expressions and follow you around the store even if you don’t have any questions to ask. They will tell you how great a product is, if you ask.(Seriously, pick any product) Overall, unpleasant shopping experience — would not return.

The Home Basics is located at Warden and Steeles in the same plaza as T & T Supermarket. It is almost right next to Neohome Houseware( ), however I find this store not as nice and organize as Neohome. The Home Basics has the feel of a Dollar Store. The goods are lying everything and some goods are even similar but they charges a lot more! The spaces is really clammed and there are hardly any Japanese imported goods, most of them are from China or their cheaper versions. I don’t mind browsing around, but I don’t think I will be doing a lot of buying in here! The parking lot can get busy and crazy during prime grocery shopping time and weekends!
