I recently visited this amazing boutique, I needed to find a wedding dress and qi pao for my up coming nuptials. After searching around for the best place with the best price I found that Yanagi Group was the spot. I went over my vision with the designer and she was more than accommodating with my requests(and I’ve been told i am a bride-zilla). She also helped me with a great design that suited my body. I was surprised at how detailed and considerate she was, she not only helped me find a flattering figure for my dress, she also helped me go through the fabrics that would make me shine. With my qi pao, I can honestly say that i was blown away. I wanted a more Eastern meets Western design, and she came through. With the amazing phoenix beading design lain atop a beautiful mermaid dress, she made my dreams come true. I would definitely recommend brides to come in for a wonderful experience.

My wife and I just checked out their fashion show at the Ritz Carlton hotel for Toronto fashion week. Seems like a cool designer, had some evening wear stuff that was pretty hot and my wife liked the office wear type stuff. Fun show, saw Bubba from Forest Gump in attendance!

I had a wedding last year and wanted to find something that reflected a certain style. I had shown Evan Yanagi a photo of the wedding gown and we discussed the type of fabric, style, length. She and her staff created a gown exactly the way I had envisioned using silk chiffon. In addition, she made the gown as a two piece after our initial meeting. The bottom gown portion could be removed and underneath was a second dress(all beaded pencil skirt) where I could wear for the rest of the day for reception once the ceremony was done. It was very innovative! For those looking for a customized wedding gown, I would definitely pay her a visit to see what she would be able to do.

My search for a custom modern chinese qi pao is finally over thanks to Yanagi Couture. I had a vision prior to the visit and had it on paper(hell I friggin photoshopped stuff I liked and fused it into a gown). Anyhow, Evan(the owner) saw my idea and made it even better! I thought custom would be a big hassle but it wasn’t(as long as you have a little idea on what you want). She was very experienced esp. when dealing w/fabrics & fit. Evan was also very honest cuz at times I was a lil overwhelmed and didn’t know what to do. She helped me see the light. Don’t be afraid to ask for her expertise. Though this is the first time I met her, you can tell she loves her job due to her enthusiasm and passion. Evan’s gained my trust and I know it will be ok at Yanagi! woohoo! The price was right within my budget as well. All her fabrics are imported from europe(mostly Italy, France). Lots of beautiful things in the shop! Some ready made items as well. They also do custom pants and you can select the materials(yr round special 3 pairs of custom dress pants for $ 199). They honestly custom everything… including bridal gowns as well. I thought the custom mother of the bride outfits were reasonable as well… approx $ 350 for a day outfit which can be morphed for evening as well. Traditional Chinese qi pao prices start approx $ 350(depends on your material). Evan says she does not repeat a dress again… so u’ll have an original. They also do alterations for basically everything! I will probably alter the bridesmaids gowns here. It’s better to call and make an appointment as they can get busy depending on the season. Hours of Operation: Sun — Wed(appointments only) Thursday and Friday: 10:00 am to 7:00 pm Saturday: 10:00 am to 6:00 pm
