What a cute little diner located in downtown Milton! Thanks to Unilocal for leading us to this great find. My friends and I came here for lunch/brunch after spending the morning hiking in Rattlesnake Point Conservation Centre, which is only 10 minutes away. It’s not very big, but it’s brightly lit and still spacious enough that the dining experience is pleasant. We were four ravenous girls after our hike, so we ordered a LOT of food, all off their all-day breakfast menu. Every single thing we got was so so so good. French toast, omelette, skillet, and mini crepes. The french toast and omelette each came with a side of the most AMAZING home fries… they were lightly seasoned with I don’t even know what, but a wonderful combination of seasonings and flavours, and they came out nice and hot and slightly crispy on the outside. Quite possibly the best home fries I’ve had in a long time, or maybe even like ever. I got the Grill Daddy skillet and thoroughly enjoyed it. It had home fries, ham, mushrooms, scrambled eggs, cheese, and Hollandaise sauce all baked together in the skillet. I preferred the home fries when they were just on their own, but this dish was still very, very satisfying, and the Hollandaise sauce was delicious. My order came with a fruit cup which was a substantial size. All of the fruits were very fresh. Honestly the quality of the food was so good, I wonder if they source it locally or something. Overall, I left super impressed with the food, service, and portion size. It was a little pricier than even some places in Toronto, with my skillet being $ 13.25 before tax. Prices are comparable to like Cora’s though I guess, and I much prefer this place.

Grill Daddy is a small diner in the middle of the milton’s downtown area and I’ve been to many like it on day trips from Toronto but this one had a very good breakfast! We went Sunday around 3pm(closes at 4) and despite showing close to quitting time I didn’t feel rushed and the waitress acted like we were the first customers of the day. I had one egg scrambled, sausage, home fries and rye toast and the hubs had 3 sunny side up, bacon, home fries and rye. The portion was very big for the price. The best part for me was the home fries as they were seasoned very nicely. My husband was wowed over everything and would not shut up about it. He kept asking the waitress(very nice and patient btw) if they get the food local because it’s different from Toronto. He finished what I couldn’t eat too! Haha It was a good meal and pleasant experience for $ 20 tip-in. :)

Me and my husband visited the restaurant for the first time. Lovely place. We were warmly welcomed by the waitress with a smile. While enjoying every sip of the warm delicious coffee we noticed most of the visitors knew the staff and homely place for many people. So many choices in the menu and sound delicious. Didn’t have to wait for too long we were served. Nicely presented, Very large portions for a great price. My husband is a steak fan and he enjoyed every mouthful and commented«stake is better than KEG». I thought of Sharing this lovely experience with you because it’s so much worth every $ and every moment you spent in Grill Daddy. Too bad for my teen kids, they were too sleepy and didn’t want to join us today. Definitely we will be visiting Grill Daddy with our kids again. Kumari & Kusal

Delicious food(with big, heaping portions. Seriously, go hungry) and good service. It’s got all your standard breakfast fare as well as rotating lunch dishes. I got the country skillet and it was a solid amount of protein as well as a fresh bowl of fruit on the side. Normally the fruit side on my breakfasts goes untouched because the fruit usually looks like it came out of a bag, but at this place, everything looks like it gets done fresh, so even the fruit got eaten. Definite thumbs up!

Huge breakfasts, great food… not much to complain about. The drinks are a little small(juice) and the space is pretty cramped but that’s most downtown restaurants. I would most certainly return and recommend to others.

Father and son breakfast. Ya gotta do it right when this team is on the prowl. I had the eggs Benedict with home fries, and Unilocaler Helper had chocolate chip pancakes with sausage. The eggs Benedict was done perfectly, with ooey gooey runny yolks and extra thick peamal bacon on a toasted English muffin. The home fries were SPECTACULAR, no doubt in my mind that they were fresh. They were so good my son stole half of them. The pancakes were fluffy with a light sprinkle of icing sugar. The sausage was crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, and delicious all around. It was a true pork pleasure, or even a divine swine. Each serving came with an orange slice to top it all off, which was also very fresh and juicy. Water and apple juice were cold and refreshing, just the way it should be. Service was attentive and friendly. We left there extremely satisfied, just what we needed. I’m sure our travelling will bring us back

This is a lovely spot for breakfast on a wet and blustery Sunday morning! I ordered the Grill Daddy special, which was a standard Eggs Benny with peameal. This differs from their regular Eggs Benny which normally just has ham. It was a good benny, but my only complaint is that although they asked for my preferred level of egg poachiness(I said soft, because there’s nothing better than a nice runny egg in your benedict,) the eggs were pretty much on the hard side. That was a little bit of a disappointment in what was a good breakfast otherwise. Their home fries are really nice, with that«magic dust» spice mix on them. Not too salty but not too bland. Lee got the pancake special, which was two pancakes with bacon and eggs. He was served a small pile of bacon, which he was really delighted with. It was cooked to his perfect level of doneness, and the pancakes were really good, fluffy and light. Service was very attentive, despite it being really busy. I had my coffee refilled before I could take more than a couple of sips! So if you’re in the area, this is a wonderful spot for a filling breakfast meal.

I split a burger and a buffalo chicken sandwich with a friend. The server wasn’t joking when he said it’s the best burger in Milton. It was very delicious and came on a fresh and soft kaiser bun. Excellent food, very friendly service and nice atmosphere for a joint/diner. Apparently their breakfast is the shiznit and looking forward to checking it out sometime. If you’re in the area, check them out. They have a huge menu and serve breakfast/lunch/dinner all day long.

*UPDATE* Despite the long wait on our first visit, we’ve been back several times since and the food was excellent everytime. The servers are hit or miss, you could get a ready attentive one one visit and a complete disaster another. All in all, I would recommend IF you have an hour or two to spare, because the kitchen pumps out dishes very slowly ********* Came here for brunch on a Saturday. The place was packed when we walked in at 10:45AM. We ordered and waited an hour before the food came.(I ordered an egg with toast, bacon and fruit cup…) Food was high quality no doubt but not sure I would return just because of the ridiculous wait time!

The food is great. Portions are huge. However no kids menu and poor service left me thinking I won’t be back for a family breakfast anytime soon. It would have been nice if the waitress said something about the portion sizes when I ordered for my daughters. The banana nutella crêpe was bigger than my 8 year old. The food didn’t come out at the same time either. It appears that most tables were served that way. Up to 10 minutes between the first and the third dish being served. It’s a very small place and with two servers working at the same time it doesn’t seem like it could possibly be too busy, but somehow it was.

We tried out Grill Daddy after seeing the high overall rating for their breakfast. We came in hungry and came out happily satisfied. The restaurant is quite small so I’m assuming it would be pretty packed during rush hours. We arrived at noon so there were a few empty tables. The waitress came by and promptly got our drink orders in. He got a coffee and I got an orange juice. We decided to share the Milton breakfast special because it was a huge portion. I highly recommend this special if you and another friend are hungry. We didn’t finish everything! The Milton special comes with 2 hot delicious fluffy pancakes, 4 eggs, bacon, ham, sausage, home fries, and toast. Everything was delicious! This is definitely better than the typical breakfast/brunch chains. Next time I’m here I want to try out their smoked salmon eggs benedict!

We had the pleasure of dining in at Daddy’s early morning Sunday over the Canada Day long weekend. I was suckered into the idea that camping can be in the same sentence as ‘fun’ and we were on Milton campgrounds when I realized a drive to a nearby all breakfast can improve the experience, despite it being taboo in girl scout’s logic. We woke up to the sun’s morning rays microwaving our tent and air conditioner + eggs for my hubby’s hangover became my instant mission to avoid the cranky mood plus another overnight. Snuck out and left our group, 10 minute destination, BOOM! Resto was located right on the street and it was already busy but parking was a breeze as we were bright and early. My party of four ended up with eggs Benedict, egg and bacon sandwich(10 yr old said it was delish), waffles, super breakfast special, loads of coffee and ice water. HIGHLIGHTS: The taters were deliciouso!!! Seasoned with peppery goodness. Came with the meal. It took about 30 mins to receive our order but thankfully it was worth the wait!!! Eggs Benedict were to die for, perfectly cooked eggs. Everything was so fresh, sauce was perfect. Lotsa bacon and great fresh bite. No after taste I normally get from lower quality pork. Overeasy eggs were made to perfection. Now on to the teeny bit of disappointment. Really tiny but after observing the reason behind it, maybe it was because we were the first customers who walked in and the waitress was still warming up to her position. She failed to mention the specials they had which she pointed to the blackboard(slash wall slash DUH!!! It was screaming at my face I could’ve noticed it myself!) to customers who came after us. It would’ve been nicer if we received the same treatment, they had a few selections that caught my eye with better pricing too. She also mixed up my little girl’s drink which lead to an early tantrum and me getting acid reflux from an unwanted glass of orange juice. We would definitely return and order the benedict whenever we are in the area though. Not necessarily for camping reasons, I hope! Daddy knows best fo’ sho!
