I have been shopping at Hobby Hobby for years! I have purchased Two Futaba radios, A Trex 600, a Trex 250, Spekrtum radio for the helicopters, all the miscellaneous hardware to build model airplanes, battery chargers, Li-po batteries, etc… over the years, I have also sent most of my hobby pals to this store. A few weeks ago i purchased four bearings for a prototype build. I asked the guy behind the counter for four bearings: ¼″ ID x 3/8″ OD x 1/8″ thick. The guys goes to the back room of the store and a few minutes returns with a clear plastic bag with four bearings inside. I asked ageing to confirm the size as there was no identifying sticker on the bag to reference the size and he told me that they were the sizes I requested. paid for the stuff along with outer material I had purchased and went on my merry way. Sent the bearings along with my AutoCAD drawings to a machinist to cut the parts for my project. Couple of week later I hear back from the machinist telling me that the bearing that three of the bearing I sent him were the wrong size: I had one One correct and the other three were wrong — one was imperial and three were metric — a big difference wham it comes to bearing at that size. The machinist sent me back the bearings in his own plastic bags he had laying around, separating the three wrong bearings from the correct one. A couple of weeks took back the bearings and spoke to Tim. I explained the situation to him and he acknowledged that the bearing were wrong. I also told him that I had lost the receipt (think I had inadvertently sent it to the machinist). He said he could not refund me as I did not have a receipt. I told him I did not want a refund awl I needed was him to swop out the metric size bearing for the Imperial size bearing they I asked for in the first place. He told me that I’d have to buy the bearings. He went on to say that he didn’t think that those were his bearing because«THEYDONTSELLTHEMINPLASTICBAGSLIKETHEONETHAT I BROUGHTTHEBEARINGBACKIN» I explained to him that the machinist put them in his own bars to separate the worn ones for the right one. He got really rude with me and told me that thats business. I almost but a whole new set of bearings at 4.75 each thats almost 23bucks. I refused to purchase them strictly in the principle. I told him that this is BS and it was not my fault. He told me to leave the store and never come back… this is in front of other customers. Not one time did he acknowledge that it was the fault of the counter clerk and offer to rectify the mistake. Later on that day i called the store and spoke to him and I explained to him that I was a long standing customer and that I would share my experience with my friends — those whom I sent to the store in the first place. He said he didn’t care. I ended up buying the bearings online at unit cost $ 2.50 including shipping and he wanted $ 4.75! In conclusion before this experience, I would have given this store a 4 star pushing 5 star rating. I give it 5 piles of dog poop. What ever happened to every customer counts? With very poor customer service like this it’s no wonder why so many business go out of business.

Best hobby shop in Gta or perhaps the entire galaxy! Great selection, good prices with a helpful and knowledge staff who do not upsell! I have been shopping at this store for a few years and always satisfied.

If RC is your thing, this is your store. They have a great website — staff is very knowledgeable and their prices are competitive with what you’ll find online. The store tends to skew more towards the RC Car enthusiast than anything else, but they do have a load of plane and quad copter inventory as well. Also, as good as the staff are, it helps to know exactly what you’re looking for. I got burned on some wheels that they recommended to me that were the incorrect once I got them mounted on my car. So yeah, as with any hobby shop, know what you’re buying in advance and accept no substitutions. Only other minor gripe for me is the location. Its a haul to get out to Streetsville from uptown Toronto, but what are you gonna do? The good news is their website allows for online shopping and shipping and the rates and prices are fair. In all, its probably the best place for anything RC.

Third time there and the service gets a bit better every time. The bad thing about this place is the workers bullie eash other if one employee looking something up on a computer for a customer another employee will come and push him out of the way to help his customer. They do have a lot of stock . They all don’t know what they are talking about. They also don’t bargin with there prices. They do have a website that’s not that bad. It’s not my favorite hobby store.
