HOC Global Solutions

We have been waiting for a container to be cleared customs and delivered to our warehouse. The container delivery was scheduled for 02/18/2022. On 02/17/2022 we received an invoice for $530.00 which needs to be paid before container will be delivered on the 02/18/2022. HOC would neither provide information for credit card payment, nor would they provide information for e-transfer. Today it's the 02/22/2022 and they have not yet released the container. We have goods for $100,000.00 in the container, paid $15,000.00 for shipping and an additional $5,000.00 for handling and GST and do not get the container cleared over $530.00. We have been working with multiple agencies but this is the worst we ever had. We are steering away all of our imports from this organization.

Our customer used HOC Global Solutions as a broker for a shipment from Chicago to Canada. HOC didn’t provide the proper paperwork at customs and my company paid the $ 50 bond fee at the border to expedite the shipment for our customer. Our customer told us that HOC had to resubmit the docs again (they were initially sent incorrectly) and they would pay the $ 50 bond fee since it was their error. I called HOC and their main office was cordial and polite but they had to transfer me to Diane at their field office. This is when it went downhill. When I was transferred to her; she came up with every excuse on why it was my company’s fault for the resubmittal of docs to customs. That’s interesting, because my company never had to modify or change any of the documents that were initially sent with the shipment in order to get the shipment finally through? When I asked her if she would reimburse my company for the $ 50 fee, her response was a curt, «It doesn’t sound like it, does it?»
Rude and disrespectful behavior has no place in business but if this organization chooses to operate this way; so be it. We have already begun to steer all of our customers away from this organization. Take accountability for your mistakes and act like a professional is my advice to HOC.
