I go here as a last resort. You are not made to feel welcome. There is a lot of fabric. I refuse to go down into the basement I think it is a fire hazard. Small and cramped with no other exit.

Allot of product in a small place. The owner is not a friendly at all. I have taken a knitting machine course withe her and she was horrible. Zero patience. Terrible website too.

I visited Ruti’s for the first time recently. I’m an avid knitter but now branching out into sewing. They really have an astonishing array of fabrics as well as yarn. There were at least 3 staff people when I was there, all ready to help. I am 40 so can’t comment on how they treat younger people. I did notice that they kept an eye on me a bit but it didn’t feel overly intrusive and they certainly were more than ready to help when I had questions. The one thing is the store is kind of cluttered because there is SO much stuff. On the plus side, probably almost anything you’d want is there, on the down side it’s kind of overwhelming and it’s difficult to see everything because it’s so crammed into a relatively small space. I’ll be back again.

I concur with the two earlier posters. I went here last summer to check out their stock. I’m in my early 30s but look like a teenager. A lady sat in the corner giving me the most frigid stare when I entered the store. I made eye contact and said hello but no response. I asked about fat quarters and other things and her response was the most monotone I’ve ever heard. I felt so unwelcome that I simply left. I was planning to buy yarn and fabric. I’d rather go downtown to places like Lettuce Knit or Wool Bin in Oakville. So if you don’t look like an old hag, stay away from this place.
