Basically you pay for what you get. If you want to get your hair and makeup done by first choice hair cutters then don’t complain for the price $ 19.99. Shirley Wu and her team are a brand and expensive for a reason. Makeup and hair is done to match your wedding outfit or party dress. They magically make your skin flawless and are one of the top stylists in the gta. The salon is always packed and they have an amazing team. I would highly recommend them for your wedding or special occasion.

I hired the Shirley Wu beauty team to complete hair, makeup, and sari dressing for myself and my wedding party this year. I could not be more dissatisfied. Beware of how Shirley markets herself to you, as a bride. She made multiple promises to me that were either unfulfilled or disappointed upon. –Firstly, she arrived over twenty minutes late to my hotel room the morning of my wedding. I was *guaranteed* that her team would arrive on time, and failed to do so. They were provided my hotel name and room number the evening before so there was no confusion about my whereabouts. This may not seem like a big deal to some, but as a bride it was imperative that she arrive on time because my itinerary was extremely tight and every minute mattered. As a result, I was over half an hour late arriving to my venue solely because of the team’s tardiness. –Secondly, my hair turned out like a complete disaster. The ‘bun’ that she made was just hair randomly wrapped around everywhere, the positioning was far too low, and she did not consult my opinion of what I wanted. I hated it. –Thirdly, after I was finally finished this fiasco of getting ready, while en route to the venue I double-checked my makeup where I noticed I had small black flecks on my cheeks likely due to the eyeshadow. Another indication of unprofessional-ism. –After I had my ceremony, my angel of a wedding planner had to completely re-vamp my hairstyle because it was so bad. –Did I mention that I had a no-show bridesmaid that morning, and Shirley insisted that I pay for her(the bridesmaid’s) services that were OBVIOUSLY not completed. There goes $ 150 for nothing! Within three days after my wedding I contacted Shirley Wu’s salon to speak to her about my dissatisfaction and horrible experience because I was so upset. Shirley was not there, but I explained the negative issues to Richard, the receptionist. He provided some shame-able excuses that I wish to share : –Richard claimed to have dropped the Shirley Wu team off at my hotel ONTIME. I quickly rebutted that excuse, where he changed his story to telling me that it was a factor that could not be controlled as one cannot predict traffic, weather, etc., and they are not liable. I insisted that it was a Sunday morning 6AM(summer) arrival time with ZERO traffic so that was an unacceptable excuse. No apologies… –I shared that I over paid $ 150 for services which were not rendered, and he said it was non refundable because I booked X amount of people to have hair, makeup and dressing for my wedding party and they allot a certain amount of stylists depending on the size of the group. Too bad that even with one less girl, they still ran behind in time in completing us. No compassion! –I also expressed my other concerns which Richard then said he would have to have Shirley herself call me back. She wasn’t available until the following Monday to call me, and I was leaving on the Saturday for my honeymoon. I asked Richard to have Shirley call me when I returned from my honeymoon, which I gave the date for. All the while, Richard said that there was nothing he could do. In summary, since this ordeal I have not heard from Shirley Wu to help rectify/remedy this situation, and have received no apologies. BESTOFALL, I PAIDOVER $ 550FORTHISHORRIBLEEXPERIENCE, PLUS $ 150FORANABSENTBRIDESMAID.
