I’m probably not the best person in the city to review cabane à sucre, but judging around my own table of the creton, grillards de lard, soupe aux pois fans everything was a hit. I had eggs, coleslaw, beets, and bread and they were good, but I was disappointed in the no pancakes sitch that I wasn’t prepared for. That’s right, I sat there and said, «WHATNOPANCAKES? only to be pretty well comforted by these über amazing round doughnut things, that are deep fried and served hot, and suggested to us by our server to «break them open, and pour all the sweet sweet goodness of maple syrup all over them.»(ok fine, I paraphrased and took liberties there) The maple tarts were the bomb, and yes I pretty much had a brunch of desserts and more sugary goodness with la tire(lined up twice without any shame) Afterwards to walk off our gluttony we all went over to the petting zoo, which was cute and then packed ourselves off in the vehicle, which I drove, and then started noticing that I was sugar crashing. Good thing for music in the car and some fresh air!

Service was very good and our waitress was very friendly and nice. The food was quite bland. The potatoes were well cooked but no flavor or salt. The ham and eggs were decent when covered in syrup.

I’ve been to this sugar shack over two different years, one of them as a a school trip. First thing I noticed was how big this place is! They definitely cater to groups, tourists and schools. It doesn’t feel very family operated, more of that commercial feeling although it is a nice location and food is decent. There’s a mountain you can climb up for a hike right near by, tractor ride, a couple farm animals to entertain the kids. Inside there’s also a large dance hall with a dj playing awful family friendly music or top 40 hits. Everyone is too shy to dance, you mostly see children and parents playing around. As for the food, it’s your typical all you can eat breakfast style assortment of scrambled eggs, ham, sausages, fried pig ears, donut holes and all the maple syrup you want. For around 20 $ a person, plus tip, I find the price a bit much for that kind of food, but when you’re visiting a sugar shack, you have the factor the experience in.

I have been here every year for the past few years and it is highly enjoyable. It is very big, so even in the presence of school field trips, you can still enjoy great service and food. I have only ever gone during the weekdays, so I can’t say how it is on a weekend. The food is all made there and very tasty and it is unlimited with your ticket purchase! They serve pea soup, potatoes, egg, maple sausages, beans, ham, and pork rinds, to name what I remember. They also bring a huge plate of donuts and sugar pie afterwards, so leave room for dessert! Unlike the previous poster, I do not think their pea soup is bland at all; It is very good and one of the things I most look forward to, along with the sugar pie, pork rinds, and tire. I do wish there was bacon… it seems like a missing component to me. The tire is great, but it has happened a couple of times that it hasn’t been entirely right to eat(i.e. hard to roll onto the stick) but it is still delicious once you do get it on the stick. The staff is extremely friendly and many of them have been their for a very long time. They are very pleasant and will try their best to speak English even if they are not comfortable with it, if there are any people in the group who do not understand French. There is a little enclosure with some farm animals that are cute to watch, as well as a gift shop where you can buy maple syrup & candies, sugar pie, sausages, etc.

One of the better sugar shacks that I’ve been to in Quebec. The service is fast and the food is hearty! I went on a Saturday and it was(Approx) $ 18 for adults and $ 7 for kids. In French Quebec, they call it «Cabane a Sucre» How it works: — You buy your tickets then wait in a line to get into the dining room. You sit on long tables with your group and get served family style unlimited amounts of traditional quebec brunch food(scrambled eggs and ham, thick french fries, baked beans, coleslaw, sausages and then afterwards sugar tarts and home made donuts). The pea soup was self serve and was very bland. I would have loved to have some crepes or pancakes as that’s really the only thing I use maple syrup on but I still really enjoyed my meal! Then you can use your meal ticket to have«tire» which is fresh maple syrup that’s been heated and then cooled on ice. You eat it with a popsicle stick, 100% pure sugar but it’s REALLYGOOD! They also have a souvenir area where you can buy real maple syrup. Get the unfiltered one for $ 8 as the clear one for $ 8.50 looks pretty but doesn’t taste as rich as the unfiltered one. They also have some animals for kids to watch outdoors and a horse ride for $ 2. There is also a dance area for the kids with a live DJ and disco lights. Picture kids on a sugar high dancing around with their parents. a little annoying but if you can bear it for the kid’s sake, go for it!
