Allegria

Visité lors d’un souper de groupe, j’ai un avis partagé face à ce resto. Situé à NDG, l’endroit est relativement charmant. Rien à redire sur la décoration, elle est sobre et correcte. L’ambiance y est bien aussi, pas très bruyante.
La nourriture était bonne, que ce soit les entrées (calmar frit, antipasti, saucisses) ou le repas (côtelette d’agneau, poulet et escalope de veau) j’ai apprécié mon expérience culinaire. Enfin, le service un peu lent est correcte dans son ensemble. Cependant, les prix sont, selon astronomique. Je né sais pas si on avait un mauvais prix de groupe ou si le fait que l’on nous né ait pas présenter le menu, il y avait définitivement un malaise à la fin de la soirée.
Je né penses pas y retourner, pas à cause de la nourriture mais l’expérience n’en valait pas le prix.

I have an updated review and unfortunately it’s not as good.
BACK THEN: There was a waiter who worked at Allegria when we first discovered this resto, but since then he has left and now the appeal and good service is gone. My first review was essentially because of him. He was pure Italian so he was a super representative of the resto given that it is Italian. He was professional and courteous, and demanded that his clients get their food fast and that it was good.
…AND NOW: Hubby & I have been three times since our favorite and most impressionable waiter left, and the service is sooooooooooooo slow.
If you are a table of 2 or even 3, you are neglected. As an example, we were a table of three. We were sitting right beside the aisle where all the staff constantly passed to get to the kitchen. It was a decent spot because you are right in the view of the waiters, right? Wrong. They were not even looking at our table, yet we were right next to all of them. We asked twice for a re-​fill of water, then the waiter said he would keep a better eye out for us. Well, it is very funny but we all went dry again and we waited for any one of them to notice (we were thirsty and the glasses were small), and no one did, so I actually had to ASK for a third time. It was a little embarrassing for the waiter… but we were not getting proper service, not by any of them.
So we asked nicely for maybe a pitcher of a water and we were told that they only had the two pitchers total so they could not give us one. They would have to keep re-​filling, yet they simply never did.
It was a very bad experience, one that might have us never go again, unfortunately. The food is great. I can give it that. Service lacks. Big.
