Just returned from a four day trip to Montréal where we stayed at Accueil Chez Francois B&B. While there are many reviews on Trip-advisor — there are few on here so it’s time to sing the praises of this excellent B&B. The location is next to a nice park on a residential street but within easy walking distance to many restaurants. While the Metro is a 15 minute walk, there is a bus that leaves right out front every 10 minutes that goes to the Metro. It was an easy walk downhill to the Metro in the morning and a quick bus ride up the hill after a long day of walking around. We knew we would be arriving in Montréal earlier than the 4pm check-in time and we had prearranged to park in their parking area upon arrival planning to take a walk and check-in later. When we stopped in at that time to let Laurence(who works on the weekend) know that we were there, she told us to bring our things in then as the room was ready! The room was great — spotless — quiet — with a comfortable bed. The room has it own bathroom — it was small but immaculate and had everything we needed. We were in room 5 at the back of the house — we even had a little outside balcony to enjoy. The room is close to the kitchen so you can hear breakfast being made(around 7:15) but we are up by then so it was not problem. The other rooms are further from the kitchen so I suspect quieter in the morning. Breakfast was made to order each morning by Francois, the owner. The coffee was good — the food was better. Eggs, waffles and french toast with some fruit as well as muffins each day. Francois was very helpful each morning providing tips and information as we made plans for the day. During the stay, there is always tea and coffee available as well as use of the refrigerator, etc. Since the kitchen is only for the B&B(and not the owner’s personal kitchen), you don’t feel like you are intruding or invading anyone’s space. We were so tired the last night and didn’t feel like going out so we went to Jean-Talon marche and grabbed a baguette, some local cheeses and a bottle of wine and sat on the little balcony. Overall, this is a great B&B — it is spotless, comfortable, friendly, and low-key — all the things I look for!

Great little bed & breakfast in the heart of Montréal! My boyfriend and I stayed here back in October for a long weekend, and we loved the place. I’m really into little B&B’s and boutique hotels, and this place was right up my alley. Lots of character and not filled with obnoxious tourists! We stayed in one of the apartments. It was pretty big(2 bedrooms, 2 pretty large bathrooms, a kitchen with full fridge, dishwasher, oven, and microwave, a dining area, large living area with TV, and access to two balconies). There is parking right behind the hotel. The area seems very safe, with a large park right across the street. It’s an easy walk to great Latin Quarter restaurants, shopping, etc. I would stay here again in a heartbeat! Bottom line: affordable, furnished really nicely, safe & cool residential area, and the owners were a pleasure to deal with.
