Auberge Royal Versailles

Unless you want to spend upwards of $ 150+ a night for a hotel in Montréal, you will get an older and more ‘cozy’ place to stay. This was that cozy and older place. This hotel is next to a fair-​sized mall where you can pick up groceries and do a bit of eating a shopping. It takes about 15 – 20 minutes to get downtown in average traffic. The rooms were clean and comfortable. Not noisy, not uncomfortable. We had 3 people staying in the rooms and we had to remind staff to supply us with 3 towels each day, as they kept giving us 2. They also continued to only supply us with 2 cups per day, so we needed to call in daily for an extra cup. One of the entry doors’ card-​reader was broken so all visitors had to go around. Free wifi, we didn’t get the deal with the included breakfast but there’s tons of places to eat nearby. I would recommend this hotel to people looking to save a few dollars and do not need to stay in the core of downtown.

I was quite happy with my stay at this hotel! And it didn’t cost me a fortune. These things come to mind…
Pros:
— Friendly staff… bilingual too! Very helpful for English speakers.
— Free parking! You do have to inform the front desk if you will be parking your car there though. They just need your plate number.
— Free wifi! I had no problems connecting.
— Clean rooms, reasonable size.
— HUGE mall (Place de Versailles) across the street.
— Close to groceries (Loblaw’s), Walmart, restaurants, autoroute 25.
— Outdoor pool.
— Metro line (green) right outside. Very easy trip to downtown.
— Easy walk to Olympic stadium and parks.
— Fridge & coffee maker in 2 double bed room.
— Affordable! The suites aren’t that bad either!
Cons:
— No microwave. That’s okay though, didn’t need it on this trip.
— Only two sets of towels by default, but it’s easy to acquire more. Just ask the front desk!
— No fitness center. Walkable neighborhood though.
— The bed mattresses might be on the hard side. I can see how this might bother some people, but I slept fine.
— Hm… No conditioner in the bathroom?

Nice clean hotel. Nothing special. However we were overwhelmed with their great customer service! Had reserved 2 nights but due to bad weather chose to leave a day early. Not expecting anything we asked about canceling the 2^nd night and the attendant at the front desk was so accommodating. She went above and beyond to help us not be charged the 2^nd night. This level of customer service makes us want to stay here again on our next trip to Montréal!
