Love this place! There’s a great variety of bulk food at a great price. I was also surprised by the vegan products they have in store: daiya cheese and pizza, gardein meat substitutes, vegan ice cream and cookies, etc. Needless to say it is now my go to place for vegan products!

This is one of my regular stops in the Plateau, and each visit is like an adventure — I’d say that I probably drop in at least five times a week! Not only do they have a well-stocked and massive selection of teas, herbs and spices, essential oils, bulk foods, Middle Eastern desserts and treats, fresh feta + olives, health food snacks, obscure ethnic foods and rare canned goods, but they also have a fair smattering of local food products as well(ie Montréal nachos). It’s not just food stuffs, either — there are all kinds of cooking tools and crockery, like tajines and cool wooden cookie moulds. Every single time I go in, I discover something new, like a treasure hunt! I want to linger longer to get a sense of all the goodies that are hiding on every shelf, but I don’t want to be a weirdo — so I just go back a lot. It seems they’ve always got just what I need when I can’t really find it anywhere else. Example? Sandalwood oil, my favourite — couldn’t find it ANYWHERE in the city, but Branche D’olivier had it, and it was affordable! Score. I stocked up on frankincense and myrrh, too. The people who run this small business are all pretty wonderful — always pleasant and smiling, helpful and welcoming, especially the lady I see most often. It’s a fairly new store, as of about six months ago and I was sooooo happy to see it open up shop! I used to go to the store in Saint-Henri when they were there, and it was one of the things I missed about Saint-Henri when I moved. But, voila! They came to my new neighbourhood and now I’m their most loyal customer.
