J’ai presque terminé un an de session d’épilation au laser. J’avais acheté le traitement laser sur Tuango, ce qui était une super aubaine, car le vrai prix est trop dispendieux pour moi.
Le salon est très propre, moderne. Je n’ai jamais eu de problème pour avoir un rendez-​vous à l’heure que je voulais (ce qui n’est pas le cas dans d’autres endroits offrant le même service, j’ai vécu l’expérience ailleurs). Les esthéticiennes sont toujours gentilles et répondent bien à mes questions. Oui, elles sont jeunes, jolies et elles parlent français, mais elles n’en sont pas moins compétentes pour autant! En passant, le traitement s’appelle en anglais: hair reduction, pas hair elimination!
Dans mon cas, oui, ils restent quelques poils très fins et très pâles. Je dois mentionner que le résultat varie d’une personne à l’autre. Personnellement, je suis super contente de mes jambes maintenant, parce que l’année dernière, j’avais tellement de poils que j’étais toujours mal à l’aise de porter des robes et des jupes. Ce n’est plus le cas et je savoure l’été pleinement sans me raser!

Am having my laser hair removal sessions done here, and so far I am not certain that I would recommend this salon. The place is beautiful and modern and not at a bad location on St-​Denis above Sherbrooke. It’s comfortable and clean, something all of us look for in a salon. However, the technicians are probably hired 1) for their looks 2) for their ability to speak french 3) only then for their technical know-​how with a laser.
I am sure that learning the tricks of the trade in laser hair removal is likely a one-​day training, or at least we get the impression it is here. My first round (on upper lip and lower leg) was with a laser (not IPL) and although I felt my technician could not answer basic questions on what I was to expect, the treatment went well and there were no lasting side effects. However, a few weeks later when the regrowth occurs, we unfortunately see she did not do an even job and there were large (1in and 1cm) bands down both my legs that were evidently not touched by the laser.
On my second visit, I received a different technician who took my comments about the first session seriously and applied extra time to do a good job (this round was with IPL). I felt much better as she gave the impression she knew a little bit more than the previous individual. IPL requires a few weeks to «kick in» as the hair regrew almost right away and I only saw results after about 3 weeks. However (and unfortunately for me) the section from session 1 that had not been addressed now had horizontal patches through it, showing again that not all of the skin gets hit with the pulsed light. I couldn’t believe it. This was clear evidence that sections on my leg had now missed treatment twice, and my displeasure is that my Deal of the Day Buy was for three sessions on the lower leg, where only 85% of my legs were ‘treated’ in these three sessions. Yes, some hair was only touched ¹⁄₃ now.
On to the the upper lip, which is for one year worth of treatments. It is very difficult to say if these are having any effect as I should mention this is my third time receiving laser (and now IPL) treatments for this area, with virtually no reduction in hair so far (hormones maybe?). I had yet another technician for this 4^th round, who essentially did three hits (the previous technician whom was being extra vigilant as promised had done 6) and told me that was all that was needed, as the IPL mechanism is «extra-​wide». Since there’s no way for any of us not in the business to confirm when a good job is being done, I will not know if these treatments are working until the year is over and I see results.
My opinion stands though, that this salon has hired their staff based on looks rather than know-​how and the service therefore suffers: not in terms of politeness or care, but in the quality being received. Still getting 3 stars since the technician on treatments 2 and 3 does a decent job and gives the impression she’s well-​trained for this.
I am just grateful that I did not pay full price (and don’t recommend that anyone does) and that I have another deal lined up at a different salon, for one full year of full-​leg treatments with IPL. Will let you know how that goes…
