Hands down, the best Mediterranean food I’ve ever had. I tried a falafel pita and veggie pita, both of which were only $ 5(Canadian dollars — $ 4USD at the current exchange rate). I wasn’t expecting much, since I really just found the closest restaurant to my hotel and saw that the food was dirt cheap, but it was phenomenal. The guy working there was extremely friendly and went to culinary school, so he took 5 – 10 mins to talk to me about life and advise me on some other great places to eat while I’m in town. I will be coming back here before I leave.

Service is outstanding. Super friendly guy, good sized portions and he is not a stickler for the little extras. I had the felafels and three salads. All round good. If you like Lebanese food and you are in the area you can’t go wrong. I will go back next time I am in the area(which will be soon since House of Jazz is round the corner).

Of all the fabulous Middle Eastern meals I had in Montréal, this one stands out as decidedly underwhelming. The line moved quickly and there was plenty of seating, but the food was just not impressive. I ordered the falafel platter with two salads and hummus. The falafel was really dry and bland; it lacked the telltale green hue and bright flavor of the freshly-made, herb-laden patties I’m used to. The cabbage salad was pretty good, but the fattoush was the most disappointing: it had clearly been dressed earlier in the day, so although the flavor was nice, the lettuce and pita were limp and unappetizing. The hummus was pretty average, too, not as lemony and smooth as I like. The counter staff was pleasant and the prices a little high(though probably average for that part of town.) Still, with so many better Middle Eastern restaurants in the city, I’d pass on this one.
