Well I cant rank this place very high since after all this is a small coffee stop place and not a real café. But for a university coffee cafeteria they have a nice coffee and nice(but extremely overpriced) cakes. If you need a coffee and you ate there go for it, if you want to have a relaxing coffee go someplace else

Thank you team Dispatch! If you’d asked me if I thought that a decent and even delicious coffee could be had at the McGill campus a few years ago, I would’ve laughed in your face. No longer true. I popped in to grab a pre-class macchiato and was pleasantly surprised to have a nice, fluffy little bit of espresso and milk foam. The price is certainly fair compared to anything in the vicinity and service fast and friendly. I’ll be back for sure.

The prospect of being able to get a solid latte at McGill seems tempting. It also helps that it is quite easy to get to McConnell from certain science and engineering buildings without ever going outside which is an added bonus in cold weather. As such I thought I’d check out the recent addition to McGill Food Services. They have a small selection of coffee and specialty drinks and there is only one drink size. There is also some food items however I only wanted a latte on this occasion. It was a fairly solid latte but not the best one you could find. I found the espresso too bitter for my liking. What also turns me off about Dispatch is their prices. The latte cost me $ 4.60 and the size was on par with a small in most coffee places. It was a good latte but the price was not justified. I still think that this location will do well because university students seriously love their coffee.

Looking to tick off one of the last remaining spots on my Indie Coffee Passport, I wandered off in search of the elusive Dispatch Coffee on McGill’s campus. I’d missed their summertime coldbrew coffee truck, and although their newly-opened café and roastery on St. Zotique looks awesome, it’s a bit off my beaten path. McGill, however, is very solidly on my beaten path. No excuses. After getting a bit spun around in the underbelly of the Engineering Department(don’t get confused like I did… Dispatch is in *McConnell* Engineering, not McDonald Engineering), I followed the sounds of undergrads and soon found a cheery, bustling atrium and the telltale signs of third-wave coffee: a gleaming La Marzocco machine, stacks of hand-stamped white take-away cups, indie rock coming through the speakers, and the smell of good espresso. This is a takeaway counter, not a place to sit and dwell, but you can get a top-notch latte and some fancy thick toast and be on your way. A lovely hidden gem that is sure to destroy the budgets of many a poor caffeine-driven McGill student.
