We saw the groupon for mani pedi so me and my girlfriend made an appointment a week in advance for 6:30. We were taken at 7. When we finally got taken, the water for our pedis was cold. We didn’t say anything and went on as usual. We waited another 20min while they finished with their other clients and our water got colder. They DIDNOT massage our feet. They butchered the job period. My friend didn’t even get her toenails dried properly. She did the mani and pedi at the same time(since they only had hardly an hour to do both after taking us in so late and close at 8) which threw water all over my close. My hands were filed miserably. The white nailpolish I have is applied poorly and there is a lot of deadskin around my nails. We were done around 8:15 you can imagine how fast they went. Only one employee was left by the tkme we were done, and she left my feet to dry for a good hour min to go talk to her other colleagues. I actually had to remove my feet myself at which point she run to say«finished!» When came time to pay she repeated 3times that the tip was up to us… really? You feel you’ve earned one?

So I noticed a Groupon deal for two mani-pedis at an awesome deal. I convinced my boyfriend to come with, telling him how relaxing it would be, bigging up the foot/leg massage. He was in. I made reservations for 11:30 am. We waited until 12:10, all the while my boyfriend complaining«isn’t this supposed to be relaxing?», finally they had us sit down. First off, their front door is broken and the place is freezing. I noticed that they had space heaters, but not pointing at us. When I asked the girl if she could point the heater at us, she gave me a look as if to say this is really inconvenient for her but okay. This was the least disappointing part of the trip. First of all, they only had one girl for the two of us. She went to put on a pair of latex gloves before she started my pedi, but I am allergic to latex. They did not have any other gloves. Not my problem, I don’t want to go home with a rash on my feet and not be able to walk for a week. So she started my pedicure without gloves on(and just for this I WOULD have given her an awesome tip, but they flushed that right down the toilet), and by the time she was just about finished my boyfriend noticed that his foot bath was almost cold. I had to ask her three times before she put more hot water in for him, and she finally did it with the attitude of a teenage girl being asked to take out the garbage. She finished with my pedi, and a different girl came to paint my toenails. She did a good job, but as I was watching the other girl really half-a** my boyfriends pedi(he says his feet are not soft, and the massage that I had basically used to convince him with to come, was so unprofessional. She was talking to the other girl in a completely different language, not even looking what she was doing and it lasted just about long enough to rub in the lotion. I’m sorry but I paid for a pedicure and you’re not putting any polish on, the least you can do is actually try to make your client feel relaxed/get his money’s worth.) I had paid extra to get Shellac done on my nails, and honestly the colour I have now is at least 6 shades lighter than the one I had picked out, and I can see under my nails. She should have done a third coat. Also there’s top coat and nail polish on my skin. My boyfriend is a magician, he wanted his nails painted black. His manicure is horrible. There’s still dead skin all around his nails. They did a horrible job filing them, so there’s white bits of nails hanging off the ends, after the black stops. Mine aren’t properly sealed at the ends, but his are a joke, plus she gave us the same teenager-taking-out-the-garbage attitude when they realized that they were actually going to have to put a coat of anything on his nails. They stuck his hands under the dryer and disappeared to go eat their lunch. Finally about 10⁄15 minutes after his nails were surely dry, she came back and said«done». No top coat. I am actually very happy she didn’t put a top coat, because they are going to be easier to fix myself at home now. When we went to pay, the girl told us that we could tip her whatever we wanted. My boyfriend laughed and said just look at my nails. She took his hands, looking perplexed, «you mean the colour?» um no sweetie, the cuticles, the filing job, the lack of topcoat. Needless to say I am not happy. I would not recommend this place to my worst enemy. Just a heads up.

At first I thought the gel application was good, despite uneven surfaces on a few nails. However, within a few days every nail but 2 had chipped and/or broke. My nails look horrible. Once chipped the gel peeled very easily, leaving only the first clear coat. My best guess is the quality of their gel and/or lamps are low. My toes still look nice, so maybe their red was higher quality than their black. PS: I didn’t use my hands excessively so there is no reason for early breakage.

First manicure and eyebrow wax in Montréal! I am very picky about my eyebrows and they did very well. Gentle and efficient. My manicure was painless, done well and looks great, it did take a good hour though and it was kind of expensive…16DOLLARSFOR A MANICURE! I’m used to about 8 dollars for one. Eyebrows were $ 8 so that was good. It was very clean, good products and kind service. I will definitely be back! UPDATE: I recently returned to GLOW for a haircut, for a girl cut its only $ 18. The woman was very attentive, listened to what I wanted and knew exactly what she was doing. A very cute, professional cut for under $ 20! I’m pleased.

I hate to bring down my rating for this place, as I initially gave this place a higher rating. My review is based on my manicure experience. When I first made my review on Glow Salon, it was a couple of hours after my manicure at this place. In order for my polish not to smudge, the lady applied oil on each nail to prevent possible smudging since my nails were not completely dry. The glossiness of the oil made the nails look perfect and masked the problems I found later when the deceiving oil was washed off. The problem: I asked my nails to be ’roundish-square’. Some nails were roundish-square, others were round, and some were filed slanted. Even my hubby noticed the poor filing job. Also, my cuticles were not completely pushed back, or trimmed properly. I don’t think I’ll come back here again. I’m better off giving myself a manicure. *NOTE* The owner of this salon emailed me after reading the review above and offered me a free manicure to make things up. I thought that this was very kind and the establishment really cares about its customers.
