Orienthé

Great chill vibe and tea selection. There’s a kind of hidden room in the back that’s dark with pillows on the floor where you have to take off your shoes. Very relaxing and nice for groups. Can’t comment on the shisha or food (although their food selection is very small — come here for tea, not dinner) as we didn’t try any.

En entrant, la 1ère impression était bonne: vous enlevez vos bottes et manteaux pour mettre une paire de babouche a disposition !
Vous apercevez ensuite le salon «style marocain» ou les gens semblent a l’aise et au calme.
Mais ma 1ère impression s’est aussi accompagné d’une impression plus mauvaise :
Les propriétaires né sont pas d’origine maghrébine ou du moyen orient … Je n’ai rien contre ça mais en allant dans un salon de thé répondant au nom de «orienthé», ça a été une petite surprise.
Ensuite la musique né collait pas du tout avec le décor !!!
Aucune musique oriental mais plutôt une musique que vous pouvez entendre dans n’importe quel autre café.
L’ambiance est au final plus «Asie» que «Orient»: on y retrouve des statut bouddhiste, et la carte des thés est pleines de thés venant du monde entier, ce qui serait une très bonne chose pour un salon de thé classique mais pas quand on s’attend a être dans une ambiance marocaine.
Mais la palme revient à la serveuse !
Lorsqu’on travaille dans un salon de thé, j’estime que le minimum est de connaître la différence entre un thé vert et un thé noir !
Or, je l’ai entendu dire a un client qui avait prit un thé marocain et qui aurait souhaité un thé plus fort (donc noir) que son thé était déjà un thé noir !!! Si le thé marocain est du thé noir, alors la terre est plate ! Grave erreur !
Pour finir, si ils s’en tenaient a une deco marocaine, de la musique orientale, et un simple thé VERT marocain pour accompagner la chicha, ce serait parfait !

The owner/​manager was soooo rude to me! I asked him to turn the music down and he wouldn’t do it. Asshole!I left-​he didn’t care. So don’t go there he won’t care but I guess he will care if no one go’s?

J’y suis allée pour la première fois avec une amie aujourd’hui (samedi). Sur ce site ( Unilocal), il était clairement écrit dans l’horaire: «sam. 13:00 — 01:00», pourtant, lorsque nous nous sommes rendu sur place à 13:15, les portes étaient barrées. J’ai donc appelé le café pour leur demander à quelle heure ils ouvraient, et il m’a répondu 15h. Je lui ai alors poliment expliqué que sur le site Unilocal il était indiqué qu’ils ouvraient à 13:00 et qu’ils devraient alors le changer si ils ouvrent à 15:00 au lieu de 13:00. Le monsieur m’a alors coupé la parole et né m’a pas laissé finir ma phrase et il a dit assez sèchement: «Nous ouvrons à 15h.», et il né s’est même pas excuse de l’inconvénient que cela aurait pu causer. J’ai trouvé cela peu professionnel.
Malgré tout, nous y sommes allé plus tard et nous avons pris de la shisha Choco-​Menthe. L’endroit était agréable, calme et bien décoré. Il y avait beaucoup de saveur pour la shisha, et surtout, beaucoup de saveur pour le thé!

C’est le côté «petit espace» avec sa décoration orientale qui lui donne tout son charme! L’employé avait été attentif à nos besoins sans être trop «collant», un juste milieu qu’il a réussi à bien maîtriser.
Je vous avouerais juste qu’il y a meilleur comme nourriture…
En tout cas, on y va plus pour la shisha et pas tellement pour les sandwichs et salade.

J’aime beaucoup m’assoir sur les jolis coussins dans la salle du fond pour déguster un bon choix de thés et tisane, fan aussi des baklavas et des quiches. Mon endrois de prédilection pour boire un bon thé après 22h.

I remember taking my shoes off. I haven’t been to many Tea Lounges that allow me.
I’ve walked all-​day all-​afternoon so I was hesitant as ladies inside could be poisoned.
I guess everyone inside is so laidback in chillaxin’ mode that no one cares.
It is an Orient-​theme oasis to get-​away from my Euro theme Montréal get-​away.
I wish there was enough pillows for a professional lounger/​napper like myself.

An excellent choice of Tea selection on menu and we’re served Middle-​eastern style.
Maybe should have went for the Hookah instead but it’s more of a cute vibrant vibe.
I guess that’s what brings in more pairs of ladies for Tea during the late afternoon.

After visiting this place for the first time it will definitely be my last one.
I went for the hookah and the lady told me that the shisha is only outside no problem so i went outside and waited for the menu…
After 10 min of waiting she brought the menu even though they were only 3 customer in the store.
15 min later she bought me my shisha and my drink WOW! I have no clue what she has been doing the whole time but wow i was very amazed by how long it took her.
I didn’t complaint simply because i was there to relax and i was in no hurry to go but 25 min just to get the order it pretty long…
I’m usually a very easy going customer and i really don’t like to complain simply because i have been working in restaurant for a few years and i know how sometime customer can be a pain in the ass.
Anyways when she brought me the shisha it tasted like crap and for some reason it was so hard to pump up the flavor. I asked her if it was possible to change it because its so hard. She tried it and in front of me and notice that it was indeed broken…
Aren’t they suppose to check before giving it to the client?
10 min later she brought me another one and the same story went. At this point i was just pissed off so i pay her for the shisha that i didnt even enjoy and left.
What a waste of time.
If you like tea i guess its a cool place to hang out but if you are there for the shisha i would suggest you to try somewhere else.

I just want to have a place to relax and daydream before my next meal.
Am I asking too much?
I almost thought I am going into a yoga studio. Which I think I definitely would enjoy a few downward dog and even Sivasana, but that’s probably not what my Unilocal friend has in mind.
Loungers and Cushions… Soft and Comfy… I feel at home… especially without my winter shoes… Can I take off my sweater too and be in my Lululemon outfit?
Tea selections are based on aroma (starting from $ 4.30 a pot)? flowery… fruity… All my guess since the menu are in French only…
Just pick a number. tea by number… any number… I just want to chill
Services are slow or non existence? My tea finally came on a «Silver» Platter…
The wait staffs are as chill and laid back as me… maybe they should have tip me instead!

Mon amoureux et moi étions à la recherché d’un lieu pour boire du thé et discuter dans un endroit tranquille, lorsque nous avons remarqué ce salon de thé/​shisha sur la rue St-​Denis.
Nous avons adoré l’endroit, qui est très propre et calme (ou du moins lorsque nous y sommes allés en ce mercredi soir de décembre). Les thés étaient très bons quoique pas assez forts pour le goût de mon copain. De plus, l’employé était très discret, ce que j’ai beaucoup apprécié. Le coût était d’environ 8 $ par théière.
Nous y sommes restés deux heures, où nous avons pu discuter sur des sofas et jouer à différents jeux de société qui sont placés sur une table basse dans le salon principal; comprendre ici qu’il y a deux différents «salons», soit un à l’avant et un à l’arrière du commerce.
Nous prévoyons y retourner très bientôt!

I’ve been here quite a few times and always enjoy it. The lounges are very cozy and are great for a small group of friends to just hang out, smoke some shisha, drink some tea and eat some delicious baklava. Go for the set shisha menus as they’re great value.

This tea house has a really chill, southeast Asia vibe with really amazing tea. I came in on a hot day and had some peach-​mango iced tea, and it was really refreshing. They have a huge selection of teas as well as snacks. You can also enjoy a hookah with flavored tobacco if that’s your thing. They also have free WiFi, which came in handy.
Since it’s underground, I think this place suffers from a lack of business, and it’s also a little pricey for tea. It’s definitely a relaxing, comfortable atmosphere though and a cool place to go with friends.

Ceux qui recherchent un petit havre de tranquillité où il leur sera possible de fumer au narguilé et boire du thé sans trop se faire déranger se plairont sans doute chez Orienthé. En effet, l’atmosphère est ici nettement plus paisible que dans la majorité des bars à narguilé…la raison est simple; hormis le «bar à thé «, ce n’est pas, à proprement dit, un bar. Eh non! Pas d’alcool = peu de fêtards = peu de bruit. En revanche, l’on vous propose plus d’une cinquantaine de variété de thés (en vrac), ce qui n’est pas mal du tout. Pas de tabac non plus! Initialement, le tabamel que l’on fume contient entre 25% et 30% de tabac, le reste étant une sorte de pâte humide, un mixte de mélasse, de miel et de pulpes fruitiers.
L’uniformité de la décoration, très concentrée sur des teintes de rouge assez envoûtantes, est quand même réussie, et c’est tant mieux. Un climat immersif est un indispensable, tout spécialement pour ce genre d’endroit où l’on né souhaite que s’acagnarder sur des coussinets, la tête bien ramollie, et alterner les gorgées d’un thé chaï épicé avec les inhalations voluptueuses d’un mélange fruité. La musique aux notes orientales quant à elle se fait très timide et est presque étouffée; il est donc possible de discuter sans crier.
Propice à l’égarement, voire, le sommeil…
