I really love this place. Its my go to, satisfaction guarantee, pastry shop. I love the fact its a family that runs it. Its always, who i believe is, the daughter who serves me and shes always super sweet! I come in wanting a couple of cannolis and always come out with 2x what originally intended to! All patries are good, i love that they have mini size, perfect for«les gourmandes» like me who just wants a bite of everything! So if you are in the St-leo area(or not) pass by its def. worth it!

Looking for Montréal’s very best cannolis? This is it folks. Nothing compares to these made to order, authentic Sicilian cannolis(I my opinion). From the perfect filling with just the right amount of ricotta and mascarpone, to the delicate crisp crust, it’s worth driving out here for these babies. Many people assume this place is the same as Allati-Casserta on Dante. But it’s not. I believe they are two brothers who split and opened separate bakeries. And after having done the side by side comparison(yes I take cannolis that seriously!), they really don’t compare. I also highly suggest their sfogliatella and almond cookies.

First of all I would like to rate the cannoli, a hard-selling specialty on top on their list. Personally I find it a bit excessively advertised. The cream filling tastes good, but the outer shell tastes a bit greasy, an after-taste of french fries made from reused commercial oil. I walked in the store 6 minutes before closing, as it was my first time buying stuff over there. I asked a few questions about different kinds of pastries and their prices, then right away the service attendant said they only accept cash. It was kinda rude to me, feeling being insulted. Her behaviour meant like if i don’t have cash with me, she wouldn’t bother to spend half a minute to answer my questions. Afyer choosing my pastries, as she was packing and wrapping my order, she added again that they’re closing. I answered her back: «Of course, well the lights just went off, it is more than obvious that you are closing.» Duh!!! At the end, I gave her a $ 50 bill at the cashier with an order of about $ 20. I would come back to try other pastries, but definitely not to praise the service and the attendants’ attitudes.

Fanastic pastries. Cannoli is best in montreal by far. Price of pastries are abit pricey, but you pay for what you get. A1

Not as good as the original Alati Caserta(turns out there is no affiliation between the two) so I guess I had unrealistic expectations for the other Italian bakeries in the petit italie section of Montréal. Sigh– it was worth a shot as I was at the jean talon market and the location of this bakery is ideal but the cannoli freshness is unfortunately not.

Probably the best bakery outside of Italy! I am from ny and always in montreal and this place is my first stop when I come to montreal. Better then all the bakery shops in nyc period.

We were driving by trying to find a bakery and came across this one. So far it is the highlight of our trip! The desserts all look scrumptiously delicious. The gal recommended a few items, even gave us a sample cannoli! Just the cannoli itself is worth stopping into this place… Mmm m mm!

I just happened to walk into this place to get a quick bite and was pleasantly surprised. This bakery is apparently known to have one of the best cannoli’s in the area but I decided on having a prosciutto, arugula and parmegianno sandwich and it was FANTASTIC! a bit over priced but every bite was better than the last. I even bought a 2nd sandwich just to bring home

Yep. This is it, in Citta’ Italia, near Blvd. Lacordaire, where it’s actually more authentically Italian than Little Italy on Blvd. Saint-Laurent. This is a planned stop on EVERY visit to Montréal. This pastry shop is in a relaxed area of the city, there is easy parking, and it’s the«real deal» in terms of an Italian experience. Whatever kind of dessert you want is here(cannolis, Neapolitans, etc.) and they are delicious. I usually throw in a cup of coffee or hot tea. I swear, the ladies and girls who work there are either from the old country or first-gen Italian-Canadians. It’s not much different than if this shop was in New Jersey. They’re friendly and engage you in conversation. This whole experience can be described as cozy and who can do without one or two perfectly crafted Italian desserts at reasonable prices during a visit to Montréal? No sane person, that’s for sure.

My family has been going here since it opened because they are second to none. The cannoli are easily the best in Montréal. The shell is always nice and crunchy and the ricotta filling is out of this world. Everyone I ever introduced to this place falls in love with it. The chocolate ricotta cake is another favourite. Their pizzas are also really good. It’s a great place to grab lunch at when you’re in the neighbourhood. Just note that it is cash only so make sure you have enough on you when you go.

Alati is a long way from my home but the cannoli? I would walk if need be. They are tastes of perfection. I’ve tried cannoli from elsewhere, even a few homemade but nothing compares to Alati’s. I do thank the universe, in its wisdom, for this patisserie being so far from my home otherwise? I would weigh in at a metric ton.

The following is a dissertation on cannolis. I’m not going to pretend I’m a cannoli expert. I’ve had less than a dozen different cannolis in my life. However I know what I like and I looove the cannolis from Patisserie Alati on Jean-Talon. Caution here not to confuse with the ones from Alati-Caserta on St-Laurent. I’ve had theirs and they don’t measure up imho. The shell is made to perfection. It is beautiful, sweet, light and crumbly enough to yield easily but a bite won’t make the entire pastry fall to pieces. It also doesn’t get soggy even after a few days in the fridge. The filling… oooh the filling. Sweet, creamy, cheesy, fluffy delight with some tiny white chocolate chips. The combination is nothing short of heavenly. They offer this divine treat in small(2-bite) size and larger(I’m gonna get so fat eating this) size. I also have had self-proclaimed cannoli eshperts guests, coming from New York and Italy as well as world travellers based in our fair city, declare that the Alati cannolis were the best they ever tasted hands down. It takes me over 45 min. to get to Alati but, given my level of addiction, I absolutely must do the pilgrimage once in a while. I also impose on friends, coming from the East to visit, to bring me a dozen. OK, so now you know how to get on my good side :). I can’t tell you a thing about Alati’s other desserts as I’ve only tried their cannolis. Hence my rating is solely based on them.
