They have a great selection that’s a little out of my price range (westmount). Wish the counter staff would have helped me navigate their selection a little better. The strong point of this place is that they have a small grocery in half the store that has a great choice of secondary ingredients for your meal. The two reasons for less Unilocal love are the fact that their cuts were limited so you were limited with how you wanted to prepare your meal, the big problem being that whoever was working the register didn’t scan one of our items and left it on the counter so we got home and were missing one of our main ingredients. BIG downer after spending $ 30 for the cuts of fish and another $ 20 on overpriced side ingredients.

The fish here is what you might expect from a small shop like this; salmon, tuna, tilapia, a few whole fish, live lobsters and, of course, shrimp and scallops, and they do often carry a few varieties of fish that are harder to come across in the grocery store, like tile fish, black cod or grouper.
The prices here are comparable to the counters at the local grocer, so it is worth popping in for a look-​see. The owner, Kosta, is a friendly giant of a man. He’s often in the shop chatting up customers and making everyone feel like family. He comes from a long line of fish mongers, and he really does know his stuff.
