I used the relocation group to move some family items from British Columbia to Texas. Once you place an order with RG they post it on trucking forums to find a driver. Because of this the pick-up and delivery was a big headache. The major issues with my move were: –The pickup happened a week late(the pickup window was agreed upon before the move and we booked flights accordingly) and the truck didn’t come until 10pm at night. We were unable to meet the truck due to the missed date(lack of communication between RG and the drivers) and our elderly neighbor had to meet it AND help with the loading — They promised special handling(wrapping and unwrapping) of my family heirloom Grandfather Clock. Per email from RG «We will take the pendulum or chain and pack it,(movement has to be taken out to protect spring) wrap clock and box it for safe transport.» I found out from the driver on the day it was supposed to be picked up that he did not know there was a clock at all and he refused to do any disassembly. In the end it was wrapped with paper and stuck in 2 boxes. — RG said the rest of the charges would be paid after the items were unloaded. The driver who did the delivery stated the payment was due before unloading and was REQUIRED to be cash or money order(from the post office) — The trucker who picked up the load in California had trouble with his truck so he ended up dropping the load from a UHAUL which meant the grandfather clock was travelling on its side. He stated this was because the driver who packed it didn’t put the arrow on it indicating which direction needed to be up. So much for taking care of it. All in all, the goods made it BUT with a giant headache for me, it seems like every promise made by The Relocation Group was broken by the drivers. Next time I move I will choose a different company.
