When I come to Montréal I roam into this lil shop. I see here on Unilocal that it’s a coffee and tea shop too? Every time I’ve gone in I’ve never seen any but whatev that’s not the reason I go. They have cute little things from different artists(ceramics, jewelry, clothes, art, etc.) and some of the things are just so different you really do want to buy something but then you look at the price tag, ha. $$$$$ I get that these artists are trying to sell their work and make a living but… It’s ok, maybe one day I’ll purchase something. Cute shop though.

Cute boutique with very expensive items. This is just off the beaten path so you will have to look down the side street to find it. Worth a stop if your in Old Montréal according to Frommers, to us it was overpriced crap.

this place is dripping with creativity, from dishware, to jewelry and accessories, to paintings, to super cool clocks that resemble bird houses. walking around this unique shop instantly brought me into creative thought. some things are a little pricey for what you’re getting(hence the four stars instead of five), but for the most part, these are more affordable pieces of art than you’d find at the other galleries in old montreal, that are also functional.

Interesting little hole in the wall. $ 2 good cup of tea to go, and tons of really nice(but also very expensive) boutiquey items. Leather bags, interesting crafts, all very cool.

Zone Orange is a charming art gallery(galerie d’art) and café on a side street off of Old Montréal. It isn’t terribly large, but it’s clean, colorful, with a ton of random art on display and for sale. I had a conversation with friendly Dominic Morin, the manager/owner(he’s listed as «le directeur» on his business card — I’m unsure how that directly translates). I told him I was sad there wasn’t any food[1] for purchase, only coffee, and he noted my complaint(now they actually have SORBET in addition to their espresso). He also pointed out a few pieces to me, and mentioned his sister was an artist here; I also checked out these animal plushies(amusing cat and octopus ones) sitting on a huge IKEA shelf. Much of the random art there was graspable stuff — tres cool. Zone Orange is worth a visit.
