Went in to get some new products. Came across a lovely lady by the name of Michelle who works there. I hope she’s a manager of some form; if she isn’t she should be! Michelle was incredibly knowledgeable but she was not snobby about it. I find that at the Bayshore location, the girls treat you like you’re stupid if you ask questions. Michelle took the time to tell me about the products I was asking about, as well as suggesting other products that would suit me. All in all, I’m definitely coming back to TS Barrhaven, but only to see her!!!

I’ve always had a slight addiction to beauty products, and Trade Secrets still fulfills that sneaky little craving for high quality hair products and fun cosmetics. I was that girl in high school with 4 or 5 different kinds of shampoo, body wash and bubble bath in the shower. I’ve managed to take it down a notch since then, but I still get a bit giddy when I wind up in the vicinity of a Trade Secrets, and this one might be my favourite. Instead of being tucked into a mall like most of their locations, this one has it’s own storefront. It’s got plenty of room to sashay up and down the aisles admiring bulk shampoo(Bed Head! 30 $!), OPI nail polish and hair appliances. This is always the first place I stop when I need to make a new beauty investment like a quality flat iron or if I’m looking for a salon-exclusive hair product(ha! salon exclusive no more!). I’ve had some hair stylists tell me that the products sold here aren’t the same mixtures that the salons sell, but I don’t really believe it. I mean, isn’t that fraud of some sort? I’ve always found the products I buy here are exactly the same quality and they are much, much cheaper. This place also has a waxing station should those pesky caterpillars get out of control. I had the service done once here and it was decent. A little more plucking than normal, but they did get rid of everything eventually. I know they do threading as well, but I’m pretty sure the staff aren’t in every day, so it’s probably a good idea to call ahead. If you’re a beauty junkie or just looking to try a new product, check this location out. The staff are sweet as pie and super helpful. Note — parking is not on the main street(where you get into Spuds and Pizza Pizza), but at the back where you enter Payless.
