Fast and friendly drive through! Stopped in here yesterday while visiting New Minas. Ordered chicken poutine from the Swiss Chalet menu(this location is a shared Harveys/Swiss Chalet. I was impressed by how friendly the drive through attendant was. Service was quick and the food was great. Also the portion size of the poutine is easily double what you receive at the location on Lacewood Drive in Halifax.

A couple times a year I will become a regular customer at Swiss Chalet for about a month until I tire of it and move on to something else. Of all the Swiss Chalet locations I have been to, I find the product consistency at the New Minas location to be one of the better. I’ve had some not so great meals here, but overall it’s pretty good. Swiss Chalet makes their wraps in the morning and heats them to serve during the day as they are needed. This is something I don’t agree with, I expect my food to be fresh to order. At several locations I have been turned down because I request a wrap with no spicy mayo — New Minas has always been more than willing to accommodate my request with a smile, no matter how busy they are.(Often if they are packed, I won’t even ask and I’ll order something different) They have a server by the name of Brenda who is super and the best part of the experience. If she hears the sound of Ice Cubes, she’s right there with your next beverage, you don’t even miss a sip! I do find their serving sizes for veggies and rice to be inconstant as well the size of the club wraps. I rarely every eat desert, but I have to admit I am not a fan of their desert menu. The deserts I have in the past taste beyond pre-made and frozen and their vanilla ice cream is very unique and I don’t care for it. Swiss Chalet, the menu never changes too much, but I guess there are only so many things you can do with Chicken and Ribs. I do give them credit for having great specials that change often.
