The staff at Boorman’s are all knowledgeable, each in their own way. A family business, and one of the only archery stores within a wide radius in the Lower Mainland, this is definitely the place to go. Yes, it’s expensive, but quality Archery equipment isn’t cheap. Since the Hunger Games trend, they’ve had a hard time keeping beginner bows in stock and the classes they offer have been full full full. So happy to hear because this is a business that deserves to stick around. The Royal City Archery Club operates out of the shooting range below the store(access is a different door, 2 doors to the left). Boorman’s also offers lessons out of this space. The staff were super patient when I was telling them about my physical requirements for my bow, they took my previous recurve bow back(which they’ll resell as secondhand) and ordered me a custom weight/size longbow. It may have taken a while to arrive, but it was gorgeous, lovely to shoot, and perfect size/weight requirements.

Took the Archery class at Boorman Archery in New Westminster. Two instructors with vast experience and only about 8 – 10 students per class. They really know what they are doing and the training is top notch. 5 classes one day a week for 2 hours for 99 $. We were allowed to come about an hour early to practice with the instructors if you wanted extra time, so all in all it was about 15 hours of training for a hundred bucks. Where else can you get that I do not know! I was told that you get a 70% trade in value so when I buy my bow there and decide to upgrade to a higher pound draw it will be super easy. Definitely don’t buy till you talk to these people! I found out if you don’t have the right draw length or weight etc you can have a totally useless bow for your body type. So skip Craigslist and hit Boorman. These people are champions!

Gotten my archery equipment here several years ago. I stopped shooting for quite a few years and decided to take it up again. They buy and sell used gear here so I will definately be taking mine back for a trade in when I get a chance. The people there are very helpful and knowledgeable about archery. They even have a small range there for you to try out/sight in your bows before you buy them. Boorman’s Archery is probably the only archery store in all of the greater Vancouver area as far as I know.
