The best Chinese in new west. When I order takeout it’s always ready and the service is prompt with a smile. The chow mein is good with chunks of chicken. We love the ginger beef and sweet and sour pork. And you can never go wrong with a spring roll! The combos are a good choice for sure

Love this place. I stumbled upon it because it is in my neighbour hood. I consider myself very lucky. This place is great. Never too greasy. They have great prices and the portions are huge. I regularly crave their wonton soup. The broth is rich and delicious, it has fresh crisp broccoli, nicely thin slices off BBQ pork and the wontons themselves are just top shelf. I live this place and have brought all my family and friends no a single complaint and my Mom who lives out of town insists on coming here each time she is in town. I have come here for many work lunches and always get good reviews from my colleagues, I even have one who likes it so much he lives in Langley and orders from here. So give it a try.

Chose one of the dinner specials on a whim one night when I didn’t want to cook. HUGE portion of pork fried rice and chicken fed me three times, it was excellent! Took me back to when my family used to order greasy«Canadian» style Chinese food when I was a kid. The pork fried rice was much more flavorful than any chicken fried or veggie fried rice I’ve ever had, I highly recommend it!

The worst Chinese food i’ve ever had. We ordered beef broccoli and steamed rice and sweet sour pork. All the food was so bland and the beef was rubbery and had no taste it was literally like rubber!!! So disappointed !!! Never going back :(

We hadnt been here for several years because the food was so bad, but we saw some encouraging Unilocal online so we decided to try It here again. We were very happy to see the décor was completely upgraded, the prices reasonable, and wow– the food is great! Attentive service too, the whole package. We will definitely be back again!

I stopped by here after 2 years and was very pleased that it is still a great place! First off the décor is quite modern, the dining area is clean and inviting and the washroom was decent as well. I ordered the Singapore rice noodle and spicy boneless pork; both were so fresh and very delicious. I was pleased with the amount of meat and veggies in the noodles which were decent bite sized chunks and not piddly little additions. The service was excellent too, very efficient and accommodating. I will definitely return again!

I loved this place! The friendly Chinese lady answering the phone was so pleasant. The food was always great… and then… one night we received our order and while we were eating, all of a sudden… WTF…A SPRINGINMYMOUTH!!! Yes. a metal spring almost an inch long! WTF… I can’t order from there ever again, that was just unacceptable. Who knows how that spring got into the food but it doesn’t really matter… it was there. So disappointed!!! They went from a 5star to a 1star… Eek!

Pretty bland offerings overall. Guess this place is geared towards more of a caucasian crowd. On the plus side, the food is not very greasy… however had to wait for take out for 10 minutes past the estimate they gave me on the phone.

Very impressed, we ordered delivery from here when our regular restaurant told us that as it was Christmas Eve they could not deliver until after 7pm. Whoever answered the phone at Chan’s was very polite and friendly and they delivered some very tasty and plentiful food within 30mins, looks like we have a new regular restaurant.

Pleasantly surprised. I had a craving for Chinese, but was unsure about ordering because this area(sapperton) is loaded with absolutely terrible restaurants. I ordered Mixed Veggie Chow Mein and they quoted me 30 mins for delivery on the phone. Literally 10 minutes later though, the delivery guy was at my door. I got a ridiculously huge order of chow mein, enough to feed me for 4 – 5 meals. The veggies in it were fresh and still had nice crunch, the noodles weren’t overly greasy at all. The only thing I can say is they were very mildly seasoned, no sauces were on the noodles. So I will probably take some of my leftovers and fry them up with some sauces and soy to get more flavor. Overall though, it’s a good deal and some good food, for a fair price.

For me, this place was quantity over quality. The food was decent but not by any means the best I’ve had in this price range. I ordered the spicy green beans and the eggplant and tofu in chili garlic sauce. The portions were huge and the price for the amount of food was very reasonable. However, the tofu chili garlic sauce was bland and overly greasy while the beans were old and a tad on the mushy side. Really convenient parking right in front of the restaurant. Next time, I’ll be trying other dishes.

Great food and lots of it. I don’t usually get delivery, but a broken arm is changing my habits for a while. Delivery a bit sooner than promised, food tasty. The beef with ginger and onions is really fresh tasting.

Ordered take out for dinner. Was pleasently surprised with thr delivery time. They said itd take 45 min to an hour, but the guy came in 20 min tops!:). We ordered rhe singapore noodles, chicken, sweet and sour soup, and the mongolian beef. Everything was really good, the spinach in the chicken was amazing: P. The only disappointing thing was that for the mongolian beef there were more onion and chili etc than there was beef:(. Also, the portions are really big like everyone has said.

We went to Chan’s Garden for dinner recently — a first-time visit for us. With it’s bright sign, we found it easy to spot at it’s Columbia Street location. Once inside, we found a rather bright and stark décor — bare, mostly-undecorated, white(or off-white) walls, with booths(the table rather ‘high’ for some of us short types!!), and lines of tables & chairs. My first reaction was memories of the cafeteria-style restaurants of a good many years ago — no décor or ambience, but a spotlessly-clean, neat, and orderly set-up. Upon entering, we found service to be prompt and friendly. We(a threesome) accepted being seated in a booth — menus, glasses of water, a pot of tea and cups, and ‘tableware’(dinner plates, knives and forks, and napkins), were quickly provided. We asked for bowls, and chopsticks — our request was accommodated promptly. For a starter(while we «researched» the menu), we(two of us) ordered Chinese beer, and an order of deep-fried wonton to share. The beer was good — light, cold, and«hit-the-spot» — the wonton appetizer was ‘ok’. For dinner, we ordered to share: crispy ginger beef, szechuan prawns, seafood chop suey, and the house special egg foo young. The food arrived rather quickly(I would say, rather too quickly!!!). The dishes looked colourful, and the servings a good size. The food presentations were the ‘good’ part of the meal, the food preparations the ‘not-so-good’ part. — the crispy ginger beef was gooey, greasy, and lacking in ‘real’ ginger flavour — the szechuan prawn dish — consisted of some unshelled prawns, immersed in a thick, and quite terrible-tasting sauce, surrounded by broccoli — the seafood chop suey — some rather decently-prepared pieces of fish, seafoods, and veggies, but too much gooey and greasy sauce — the egg foo young — uncooked inside, and a total yuck! Overall: friendly and accommodating service, served up in a stark and cold ambience, with decent presentations of food, that, in our opinion, was certainly not prepared as well, or taste as good as it looked. Based on this dining experience, I just cannot see us returning for another.

This is an awesome Chinese restaurant out in Sapperton. It’s a large space inside, with some comfortable booths, and nice large tables that make sharing food really easy. You’re going to need the space to share since their portions are HUGE. My friends and I ordered a large hot and sour soup(which was enough to feed 6 – 8 people and we were only 4), shrimps with cashews, ginger beef, mixed vegetable foo young, chicken fried rice and Singapore noodles. Everything here was pretty good. Plenty of flavour, and not much in the way of batter and grease. The only downside was the foo young. there wasn’t much in the way of flavour. It just tasted like a bland cheese-less omelet. There weren’t a lot of people eating in that night, but they were doing very very well on take-out. There was a near constant stream of people coming in the door to pick up orders. This place is going to be my new go to Chinese restaurant.
