Taza is one of our absolute favourite spots to grab a quick bite in New West. It was the first place we ever ate out here and we stopped in a ton while we were in the throes of moving. The owner is a lovely person. She’s like a restaurant mom! Always encouraging us to eat more and letting us know her baklava is homemade with a wink. She’s just a very positive, chatty person who makes you want to come back to visit again! To be honest, even if the service were worse I would still come back for the food. Everything is delicious, fresh, and affordable. The hummus is super authentic and some of the best I’ve ever had. We also like to treat ourselves to their amazing ice cream(try the salted caramel!) The atmosphere is clean, bright, and comfortable. I definitely recommend Taza to anyone looking for an authentic spot to grab a donair or two!

The great reviews brought me in, and I agree that this place is great! I had the chicken donair with fries. The woman running the place was friendly and relaxed, and our food was fresh and tasty. The fries were soooo good, sprinkled with seasoning salt and fresh cut in house. Everything held together well and it wasn’t too runny and saucy like some other places. Value for price is really good here! We will definitely be back. Hubs had the lamb donair and he agreed it was all drool worthy(though I didn’t try his) A new fave spot for me!

Had a late dinner here tonight. Best place for a middle eastern restaurant. Plenty of parking and it is located besidd 7 – 11. Was greeted by a lovely lady with a big smile. Was empty but we felt very welcomed. Everything is homemade from sauces to fresh cut potatoes for fries. They have a special on everyday of the week. Prices are reasonable. The quantity of food is perfect! Lots of seating. No washrooms:( We paid for our meal after we ate. Service was excellent! Nina was very friendly and attentive. I had the chicken platter that came with a lovely house salad, brown rice, pits bread, chicken with hot sauce and taziki sauce drizzled over top. Very filling and hit the spot! Had to pack it up for home as leftovers:) We also had a chicken donair with fresh fries and the right amount of sauce and vegis! We are definitely coming back for sure!!!

This place is a 4.5 for me. My partner and I shared the falafel platter and the lamb platter. Bother were excellent. The falafel was fresh, flavourful, with a soft texture in the middle and a crispy exterior. The lamb was good too. Good flavour and good portion of meat. Though both were excellent, I prefer the falafel and I’m a carnivore! Both platters came with a salad, two small pieces of pita, and hummus. We also tried the baklava which I really liked because it wasn’t as sweet as a lot of other baklavas. Definitely worth a stop if you’re in New West. And if you’re in New West on a Sunday, try the chicken platter special. Only $ 9.50 + tax!

After reading many reviews, walking and driving past this place countless times, I finally decided to give it a shot. THISPLACEWASDELICIOUS!!! I was very surprised by how flavourful and juicy my chicken donair was. Nina the owner is what truly makes this place special though, you can taste that she cooks from the heart! Thank you for a pleasant experience and honesty, I will return!

Blown away by falafel platter. It’s not reheated falafel. It’s fried right before serving. Wow just amazing. Big portion, fresh and on a real plate. I’m glad I live close.

I’ve had falafels in many places but this place makes delicious ones. The falafel platter is huge and filling. Their spinach pie is also very good. Price is quite reasonable.

They proudly claim to have the best falafel in town and they are right! I’m addicted to the falafel wrap. The chicken wrap is also very good. Great service, great prices, generous portions. What else can I say? Go now and find out for yourself why this place has such awesome ratings.

I came here because of the rewiews and I was not disappointed. The owner was super friendly, and the food was very good. I ordered 1 beef, 1 lamb wrap and 1 beef and 1 lamb platter. All four were cooked amazing. The owner told me how the chicken was her specialty so she gave me some to try and yes I would have to agree that it was really really good. Parking was easy, food came out hot even though I did takeout and yes the portion sizes was enough for us heavy hitters. I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a meal to satisfy there delicate palate.

The lady running this place is awesome. Very nice and accommodating. That said her Sharma is not that good. I went with a group and the spices she uses didn’t sit well with anybody. All around, not super good food.

I think they are my new favourite eatery. I had the chicken chicken plate with an extra side of hummus to go. The rice is beautifully seasoned and perfectly cooked. The salad dressing is perfect, not too acidic for my palate. The chicken is moist and tasty. The hummus is perfect, a little different taste but I love it. Every culture, and cook/chef has their twist on flavors. Great customer service. I will be back!

Went in and ordered a beef donair but the staff changed my mind by telling me the chicken is the way to go because she(the lady at the cash) marinated it herself and so I went with her recommendation. She also recommended the tazaziki and hot sauce(I love hot sauce so this was an easy choice). The staff are very friendly and for just that reason I would go back but… I took it to go. I got home, unwraped it and devoured every bit of it. ITWASAWESOME! I travel for work and have had donairs from Halifax to Montréal, Ottawa, Calgary and beyond but this was my favorite so far. I can’t wait to bring my kid here to eat. I recommend this place for sure.

Perhaps I don’t know many other Mediterranean places but I love new, clean(who doesn’t) but the burger place that used to be here 6 months ago, was a total dive. Located in a small plaza at the southern end of the action on 6th street, away from Royal Centre Mall. I’ve tried their chicken donair, fresh and good size portions. I came here when they first opened so had a complimentary baklava, which was as good as Aladdin Café in DT Van. They offer catering all the way to Metrotown. credit/debit ok.

My falafel history is long and storied. For example, the night I got married(after eating a very well prepared four course meal), at 3am, I ate falafel on the streets of New York. I’ve been chasing that high ever since. But I digress. You probably think you don’t like falafel. Every other falafel place in New West and most in Surrey(Jerusalem Grill seems to be the only exception in Surrey) will reheat a prefried falafel ball in a microwave to make your wrap. The result is completely mediocre. It’s not crispy. It’s not the right texture. It’s not… good. And then there is Taza Falefel House. You’re greeted by your new Iraqi mother who cracks jokes with great familiarity and insists that you haven’t really had falafel before. She makes it by hand. She makes it fresh. And she makes it just for you. No mix here! When we discovered this, our anticipation built. I am more excited for solid local falafel then Christmas(this is saying a lot). She delivers. The falafel was fresh, hot, expertly prepared, crispy. seasoned. Next time I’ll customize a bit more… do they have those delicious turnip and beet pickles? Maybe add a little extra heat for the BAM! Factor. I had a better fry experience than my fellow reviewers — mine were perfectly crispy and seasoned a dusting of spices. And while the interior isn’t all shiny and new, it is clean which is far more important to me. And at the end of the day, the place could look like my teenage brothers bedroom. It’s not like I’m spending all that much time there 0 the best part about a falafel is that it’s quick healthy eats, I’m in and out in a flash. I am truly excited that this place is just down the street. I will be back again and again.

One of THE best Falafel I’ve had… I’ve been looking for a good falafel place near my place. Located in uptown New West. I walked in and I very nice lady greeted me, I looked at a big picture menu on the wall. Went with falafel wrap, plus $ 2 to add fries. The lady behind the counter was funny, I was like Id like the falafel wrap with fries, for here place, she say«ok THE Falafel with fries» she emphasized on THE at first I was like ok… I didnt see THE on the menu. As a was paying I notice one lady was making the falafel by hand Fresh to order! Yes pleAse! The place is bigger than most falafel places Ive too with handful of tables and counters. When my food arrived, I was excited! I opened my wrap and took a bite, omg so good, the falafel was fresh, full of flavour and soft with a a good crust on it. The wrap included lettuce, tomatoes, onions, some spicy hummus sauce went well with the wrap. The fries were probably the only disappointment. The lady comes to check me and ask how my falafel was I was like really good! She says I told you its«The Falafel» we both had a giggle. Ahh I get it… lol I will defiantly be back, maybe to try the platters.

The nicest staff and super fresh food. Especially the falafel. I had to buy multiple! Not powdered. She makes them fresh to order. Great hummus. Great pricing. Love it. I’M COMINGBACK. 4⁄5 Because the chairs leather is starting to tear. But it’s Very clean. And there are no posted hours of operation yet. Also I’d love to order their tzatziki to go too instead of just hummus. It’s really great!
