The Paramount

If you hate movies but love hollowed out movie theatres and naked women, look no further than «The ParaMOUNT». It’s got everything. But no booze. It does not have booze. But it does have water for $ 5.50. It also has South American Strippers from South Surrey and a strict no touching policy but lap dances and sustained eye contact that will make you fall in love. Perfect for a stag or Sunday brunch with your grandmother, the ParaMOUNT delivers it all. But in all seriousness, this was a fun place to have a bachelor party stop-​off and Ethan, Diva and Pandora really made our night! Thanks for everything, we will be back…

I’ve now attended all the strip clubs in the greater Vancouver area, and the paramount paled in comparison. Being a woman in a strip club is always an interesting experience, so I try my best to be an excellent customer. I cam in with a friend of mine, tipped the waitress well, and tipped the dancers on stage.
The girls were very friendly and my friend and I pole dance as well so we were watching their moves and at times impressed by the occasional pole trick. My friend was even going to buy a lap dance.
We were going to head out after one more dance, when we were approached by a woman who claimed that the dancers were feeling uncomfortable, and that we were making negative comments about them. Not once did we say anything negative about a dancer. So I told the woman this, but that we would be happy to leave if she liked. I should mention at this point that my friend and I made up 50% of the clientele. She reiterated that the dancers were uncomfortable and that we should leave, so we did. On the way out the waitress glared at us, and a dancer waved goodbye with a smile as we wished her good luck! (it was her first week)
I have to wonder what kind of establishment asks perfectly respectful clients to leave?

I will always have a fond place in my memory for The Paramount. The reason being was that when I turned 18 all my friends at the time brought me here for a good time. And it was an awesome Saturday night all those years ago. (I’m really not sure if they allow 18 year olds into this club, it’s been so long since I’ve gone but I remember we could go in at 18 because there was no alcohol.) But it’s nice to see that this establishment is still around even though many of the older clubs in downtown Vancouver have closed. The girls were always friendly and nice and it’s not seedy like some of the other establishments that are still around. Actually, I always thought of this place as one of the more classy clubs because it’s held in an old theatre and it reminds me of… old time Burlesque shows.

Presentation:
Its a strip club, its dark, its gloomy and the bright lights are focused on the girl in the stage. The seating is comfortable but not the best, the layout in the front half section is the best place to get a good view of the stage. The second half is just weird. Mainly because there’s another pole in the center of the crowd but the times I’ve went barely any dancer uses it. So the second half of the crowd is generally aimed at the other pole but you can simply adjust your seat to get a better view of the center stage.
Their are private areas where you can have one on one time with dancers. The curtains are completely see thru so it sort of defeats the purpose of privacy but it’s a strip club there’s nothing exactly private about this place.
There’s also VIP areas, but I’ve never gone there so I can’t rate it.
Cost:
$ 25 for a private lap dance with a dancer per song and $ 10 cover charge to get in. A mandatory non-​alcoholic beverage is required at the time you are seated. All in all if you’re there to just watch the dancer in the stage your looking at about $ 16. If you’re there to get private lap dances (which are 1 song per lap dance) its $ 25. IF you want to solo with dancer longer the price jumps (check their website for the latest info for price adjustments and specials).

Dancers:
Its a toss up. Some nights you get better looking girls, others not so much. It depends on the lineup. Most girls are good looking but the REALLY good looking ones are not always there. Most these girls are excellent dancers. They certainly know how to strut their stuff. Be warned though, you will get haggled every now and then by dancers asking you to have a private dance with them (its just part of their job). If you’re not interested just (man up) say it straight up, because you could be looking at one expensive evening (unless this is what your aiming for than by all means enjoy).
Location:
It’s really easy to get here you can take the sky train and stop at the new Westminster station and walk easily there. There’s a lot of free parking at night so you don’t have to worry about paying the parking meter.
Overall:
³⁄₅. It’s not the greatest strip club in the world but it’s not the worst. I’m sure there are better ones else where. If you’re in town, or maybe you want to have some fun and look at dancers than by all means go for it. If you’re local there are a lot of other strip clubs at Greater Vancouver to check out. But again this specific place is not that bad.

Just like the others have said, although this is a no-​alcohol establishment, it is still a great time! You have to pay cover to get into the place ($ 10), and you also have to buy a drink once you’re seated. I don’t really agree with a bottled water being the same price as a redbull ($ 5.50) but business is business I suppose.
The girls here are very fun. They all have personality and are very lively. I didn’t feel like any of them looked unhappy to be there. The girls do walk around while they aren’t dancing to see if you’d like a lap dance and engage in a bit of conversation with you. Usually they are pretty talkative even if you aren’t getting a dance. The lap dances themselves are pretty good. I haven’t had very many in the past but they definitely give you your money’s worth. (hahah). I should probably also mention that the waitresses are usually very friendly as well.
My fiancé and I frequent the Paramount at least one every two weeks or so and it’s usually not too packed aside from Thursdays — Sundays. Thursdays is duo night so definitely a good night to check it out!
I definitely recommend to sit up front as most of the girls are very interactive and lots of fun!

First of all a warning: this is a NO booze establishment!
But I have to say, don’t let that stop you from coming here. The no booze rule means better lap dances for you… that’s right, the girls get right on you!
It also means you can come here when your 18.
On most nights they have specials ranging from 2 for 1 dances and discounted rates for a couples lap dance as well as duos.
Be sure to sit right up front as its the best seat in the house, while dancing a lot of the time the girls will come talk to you, which I love!
Oh I should mention, if you go to their website you can print off a coupon for free entry on the weekends before 9. The only catch is you MUST purchase a drink (juice, pop, Perrier).

I was here a couple of months ago with a friend.(We are both straight and both girls.) I really like the set-​up: its an old theater converted into… well… umm…a strip club. We got there just before 9 on a Fri and used a «get in free before 9» printout from their website. We sat at a table just back from the stage. There’s plenty of seating right at the stage as well as tables and booths going back several rows. It was pretty quiet when we got there (maybe 8 – 10 other people in the place including a couple of couples and some guys by themselves). I think there were almost that many strippers standing around too. It got busier as the night went on.
There’s no alcohol served here – no prob for us since we don’t drink anyways – and I can’t remember how much the juice was. What I do remember though is the shocked look on the waitress’ face when we gave her a decent tip. I guess people don’t normally tip well here???
The first few girls on stage were new: they were young, repeated a lot of their moves and didn’t really know how to use the pole… but as the night went on the girls got better. There was a real range of looks from girl next door and natural, to more glam and more fake. Our favourite girl of the night was petite brunette who said «fuck you» and gave a guy the finger to his back when he got up to leave as she got on the stage. Lol! She had a serious attitude and it was sexy as hell. I think lots of people felt the same since she definitely made the most money on stage that night.
We were there for 3 hours… long enough for an entire rotation of girls. I should point out that the stage was NEVER empty. Literally as one girl got off the stage the next got on. And I caught a glimpse of a lapdance through the sheer «private dance area» curtains and I’ve gotta say. if I was a guy this is the place I’d wanna get a lapdance. Its full nude, full contact. The girls are literally sprawled out on top of the guys.
