Find it fairly overpriced and if you don’t get one of the guys who work here the quality isn’t so great. I would only use if I had no other option.

Skilled, reasonably priced and they seem to be careful with sanitation. Lots of colour choice but they don’t sell every brand so if it’s important to you to take home your colour choice, ask. My only problem is I get a mani pedi only from time to time and some of the technicians know only salon lingo in English, so if you say «picture» instead of «design» you may have trouble making yourself understood.

I had a local appointment so popped in to see if they could fit me in for a quick manicure and pedicure, based on their good Unilocal reviews. They were personable, clean, quick and friendly and the prices were reasonable with a lot of colour options.
The quality left something to be desired however. One fingernail polish began literally peeling off within 2 hours. 24 hours later, 2 toenails are doing the same. The polish was unevenly applied with marks on my cuticles, toes and fingers that I had to remove at home. They used OPI polish as requested (it’s the only polish that doesn’t chip on me) but the peeling makes me think they used a cheaper base coat. Fine for a quick touch up, but I won’t become a regular.

One of the best places to have your nails done. The entire staff is wonderful each tech really knows what they are doing. They are so friendly and inviting and really make you feel special. I have been going for a few years now and each time I leave happy and feeling great.

I love this place! They are so sweet and accommodating. I go to get my eyebrows done and they always do a great job, and have always been accommodating to walk-​ins.

Got my nails done here, acrylic they where so painful the next couple days i thought this was normal but i been to another nail place and they told me that was not suppose to be happening, they did not cut my skin but it hurt to touch everything with my fingertips.

Had a great spa pedicure with Vicky today! She was thorough, efficient and friendly. She also used warmed black stones during the massage portion, which was a very welcome addition to the pedicure. I’ve been here several times for pedis in the last few years; the value has always been really good and the service always consistent. Highly recommend this place!

I used to come here regularly when I had gel nails and never really had a bad experience. I decided today I wanted to get some shellac nails. I don’t ever do regular polish as it chips in about 5 minutes and my money is totally wasted, I only like shellac. They handed me a board with a lot of colours that says «gel» at the top. I asked is it gel or shellac? She told me it’s shellac. I chose a colour and she starts painting and sure enough, I can see the bottle and it says GEL, nowhere does it say shellac. I don’t know if they don’t know the difference — shellac is a gel/​polish hybrid. You’d think professionals would know. I’ll see how this lasts, the last (one and only) time I had gel colour it was chipping the same day and by 2 days 2 full nails had peeled off. It was at a different place which had also told me it was shellac but you can plainly see by the bottle it is gel. I don’t know what’s up with that. The technician was sweet enough otherwise, and I can’t say I’ve ever had bad service here. Average prices.

I’m naturally blonde. I can take a box of blonding hair dye and it actually doesn’t turn my hair orange because the base? Is blonde. This is reinforced by the fact that I have blonde eyebrows that, without routine and regular maintenance, simply do not exist. Well, they exist, but one can not SEE them without a special light.
Cue my nice esthetician at Up Town Nails last weekend. Prepped the area, dyed the brows, checked with me to ensure proper shape and thickness, waxed the brows, and sent me on my way with beautifully shaped, thin, and visible brows that I can be proud of. A little more pricey than usual, sure, but worth it.
I haven’t mani-pedi’d here yet, but I will. Because even though I loved Crystal Nails, they don’t tint brows. I like the one-​stop-​shop.

I adore this place. The Vietnamese people that run this place are the most adorable people I have EVER met. I have had regular manis & pedis here as well as gel nail maintence, when I had them. I had been to a few nail places in New West and Burnaby and they were all crap in one way or another. Either bad service or bad mani’s. I had one location cut me badly. At Up Town I have never had an issue. When I had gel nails, they were put on and maintained by Vincent, who is probably the nicest person I have ever met. He also LOVES hockey and there were a few nights that he and I stayed late, after my manicure, to watch the end of the game. Now that I don’t have the gel nails I don’t get to see him as often but he still remembers me everytime I walk by. Now that’s service!!!
