I was ecstatic when I found this company and did the quick online quote because it looked like I could move a fair amount of personal goods from Canada to Dubai for less than $ 500. Unfortunately it went downhill from there. When I called with questions re: the shipment they were vague and not clear on their answers. In fact they wouldn’t even tell me what city the warehouse was in for drop off of my goods until the last minute so it was difficult to plan and organize as I didn’t know if I was driving an hour or two. Drop off went fine, and the guy organizing my pallet was excellent and got my stuff on one instead of two pallets, though they still tried to bill me for two. If I had understood the process better as well I would have packed differently and more efficiently(again they give you no help here). I had also asked them about my stuff once it arrived in Dubai and they gave me no help, I got a «ummmm well you could call Dubai and ask». I would assume they ship around the world everyday, they could maybe point you in right direction. I also asked about surprise costs and if it would be alot more than the online quote, vague again and yes it was a few hundred more as there was a fee for the pallet etc… I also should have read fine print, cause surprise they charge in US dollars. In my 6 or 7 calls to them this was never mentioned. I never did find it in the small print. Then I was told it would arrive June 30th and I’d get a call from the company here when it did. Wasnt’ given a number, not told what to do or what to expect or nothing. Neither was I told there would be charges on this end. So our stuff arrives, the company receiving it was not told it was coming or they would have contacted us ten days in advance to get papers in order. They also sent us a huge list of things we can’t bring into the country. A-1 never shared this so we started to panic(cause it was stuff like budha statues, any art with a nude in it, etc… stuff I wouldn’t have thought of). Meanwhile, our paperwork is filled out incorrectly by A-1 and juggling the different weekends our stuff sits in storage while I wait to get A-1 to fix it so our stuff will be released, and they threaten to charge me for the changes despite being the ones at fault. Ends up our stuff is held up 5 days incurring and extra $ 400 in storage fees plus the other $ 500 in fees charged by the company that we were never told about. i recommend going to another company, they can’t be less helpful or inept than this one and if they are vague and won’t answer questions be prepared for your expected shipping costs to quadruple like ours did.
