Not a big fan of Petcetera. When they first opened they had a single saltwater aquarium with several fish and a few invertabrates. Everything in this tank was dying, obviously it wasn’t cycled properly. Went back about a month later and it was gone. The freshwater tanks also appeared poorly cared for. They have a limited amount of aquarium supplys and what they do have is outragously priced. Would be nice to see a priviately run petstore or even a Big Al’s move into Niagara Square.

Dropped our little dog off here for doggy-daycare while we rode the Maid of the Mist. Not only are dogs not allowed on the MOTM, but Harry would have freaked on account of the volume of water. A bath is about as much as he can handle. Anyway, I got a good vibe from the woman who I talked to when I dropped him off. All the staff I came across seem really into animals. They asked me all the right questions about him and took it seriously when I told them he has a corn allergy. When I picked him up he seemed like he was having a good time. The woman I picked him up from told me that he enjoyed playing with a Rottweiler(he likes big dogs), he is interested in flying birds(which told me he was outside for a walk), dislikes cats(he has reached an agreement with ours, but others are fair game), and would like guinea pig for dinner(he is a ratter). All of this suggests that people took the time to interact with him on at least a minimal level while he was there. I would definitely recommend this particular store and staff. Like I said, I got a really good vibe.
